I don’t think we fully understand the genius of this song. Even surface level, the notion of bringing the Legendary Steve Arrington, Multi-Faceted Steve Lacy, and Daring & Original Childish Gambino together to create this piece is unfathomably great. Then 1-of-his-kind Thundercat is present. Jeez. What a roster!

This track is so SMOOTH. This one is a 9.5 out of 10. It takes 'cool' and drops it in the 'smooth'. It's got my favorite bassist, Thundercat, and 80's throwback, Steve Arrington and a member of one of my favorite groups (The Internet) Steve Lacy (so many Steve's!!!). I am enamored by the way Stephen Bruner (TCat) is paying homage to these greats (see the album "Drunk"). I can't wait for the album to drop. Got my pre-order ready to go.

My favorite example of a song with a funky beat and rhythm and pretty darn depressing lyrics. "I'm just trying to live my life, I'm just trying to do whats right" when the world often times doesn't want/doesn't let you do the things you need to do, it sucks to be continually held in place by the society at large that dictates what we can or can't do based on how we look. Every time I listen to this song its like, I'm dancing, but I'm sad about it, too. Like this funkiness is only borne out of pain. I think that requires extra thanks to the people that can turn that pain into joyful music for others to jam to but also ponder upon.
