It was so refreshing to hear this back in the day on Top 40 radio. In the midst of too much sappy pop in 1971! -John

+WAUG Network ~ It was indeed refreshing, but the song was released, and hit the charts in 1969. As for 1971, it was among the greatest years in rock!

I was only 10 when I heard it on the radio. The year my oldest brother graduated. Love it then and love it now. Beautiful.

One of the best rock pop songs of the late Sixties- at last delightfully extended & re edited giving it new life - always thought Jeff Lynne would do a brilliant ELOesque cover. Thanks Mr M for breathing new life into this classic.

I never heard this song on the radio. I found it on an album. I think the album was The Strawberry Statement. Something like that. None the less, it's always been a favorite of mine.

Sadly John Perrone Who did all these masterful mixes died from covid in 2021. If you look up his name online you can read the tribute that was in his hometown paper. He was a really skilled disc jockey in New England and used is excellent taste in music and access to a lot of master tapes to create so many fantastic extended versions of pop, rock, soul and especially Motown songs. It's a real loss to a lot of people that he's gone but thankfully this huge body of work he poured his heart and soul into is still enjoyed by so many of us.

A BLOODY FANTASTIC SONG It is a timeless living forever song. One of many very special songs in my memory bank as a kid growing up 60's/70's. Another beauty was Graham Bonnet "Only One Woman". I feel growing up in this time period we were so lucky with all the cool music/cars motorbikes etc, it was a free easy lifestyle peace love & rock n roll . NZ music lover . PS Check this old Kiwi song called "Spinning Spinning Spinning"

How about extending "More Today Than Yesterday"? The best copies really show off the great production. Who knows what you could add!

The real pisser is John Perrone (The man who extended all these excellent mixes - mosogotam) died from covid in 2021. He was a really skilled disc jockey who loved Motown music and thankfully we have so many extended versions of songs on this channel. You can Google him and read more about this special man.
