Thanks for sharing. I miss the day when Calder Park was operational, The Thunderdome, National Circuit, Drag racing, it had the lot. Such a shame to see what has become of it :(

The story is built cheap and has massive subsidence. And they cannot get anyone to lay new bitumen. Originally they tied the bitumen spreader to the wall. Occelfnsafety has put the kibosh on that

The front 'clip' is all bolt on on a HQ and I suspect more than a few bolts had been left out. Big hit,, more so under yellows. Buy his seeing eye dog glasses!

Such a crying shame this track has fallen. I wish someone could revive the Thunderdome again. With Holden and Ford no longer building cars from next year, why can't this track be restored and reopened to keep alive the Holden and Ford battles again? Not only that, but it could be a good proving ground for future Aussie NASCAR drivers to mix it with the Yanks just like Ambrose did. Hate seeing all this go to waste, plus whatever happened to all the cars that raced there? Sure hope there's a good remnant left to put on show.

It would have been great to have a race go the other way but cup cars are set up with the steering on the other side and to keep the passenger side on the wall side they would have to go the other way.

Nope they aren't mate because in Australia here we drive a right hand side cars and they are racing the right hand side of the Calder Park thunderdome outside of Melbourne Victoria Australia 🇦🇺 way way back then mate because I am a very very extremely proud Australian born citizen I known a little bit about the Australian history of motor sport racing mate
