BS. The thunderheader setup installed must be the model designed for the smaller TC88, so of course it'll be down on power. I'm sure there was some fuel or intake tuning off screen as well, because there's no way the curves would be that similar in overall shape.

100%. Disingenuous advertising is the worst. TH is an equal length header with long primaries. Physics dictates that you'd be hard pressed to make 1-2hp more, let alone 10.

I also call B.S . I have a friend who races a Harley a sub 9 second bike and they used the thunder header on this bike until about a year ago because they were too small for the new engine combo so they had some custom made pipes made just for the drag bike to make even more power ! Some pipes you just have to tune to make them come on & make more power ! There is a reason most speed shops use the thunder header because they work ! Even the local Hells Angels all use them on their bikes as well as the custom big inch bikes they build that are for sale to the public where I live !

I'm quite impressed and interested in s set of your True-Duals for my Ultra-103". BUT I'd like to know more about how the bikes used in your comparison videos were tuned for these dyno runs. Were these just straight up "hot swaps" done with "as-is" tuning on BOTH pipes, were the competitor's pipes tuned for on the bike before baseline runs were made? And were your pipes tuned for before the runs were made? While the end results are indeed impressive, these are some very big factors.

I call bullshit. The thunderheader produces way more power tuned properly. I know this because I have a 103 dyno tuned with a thunderheader and intake and i make over 100hp

And yes, Tunderheaders also work very well. But they were designed when the production Harley's engine displacement was still 80". The standard Harley engine now displaces 96"-103", a 25-30% increase in engine size, yet the Thunderheader remains unchanged from the original 30 year old design. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand that a pipe that was optimal sized/flowing for an 80" engine isn't going to be optimal for another engine 25% larger. Thunderheaders still work quite well, but are no longer optimal for the modern 100+ inch engines. They can't/won't make the top-end that a good dual exhaust will. In the past true-dual setups have had shortcomings on the low end torque, which I believe has been addressed by the stepped diameter design, like MGS has used here. I've run a lot of exhausts on my Harleys and these are the best performing and sounding pipes I've had. As long as you like them loud, that is.

That is not a fair comparison. You should have made adjustments with the TH also. And I can tell you that your dual exhaust will not make more power than a thunder header. exhaust scavenging is crucial in any high performance engine. if it wasn't NASCAR and all other forms of auto sports would not use it. No dual exhaust can outperform a properly tuned thunder header on a Harley Davidson engine. none I would be embarrassed to have this video online.

The thunderheader run clearly wasn't tuned for the pipes... you can hear it popping when it comes down off full throttle... normally that is caused by a leak at the flange which causes power loss... not to mention the numbers it put up on the thunder header match stock tune numbers... I call bs!
@andypullen86169 жыл бұрын
Believe it! I run MGS Duals on my 2013 Ultra 103" with a good PV tune and it's a completely different bike than stock. It out pulls bikes I've installed 107" kits on! No bullshit, these pipes RUN.
@samt13078 жыл бұрын
That's not really an accurate comparison . That bikes should never had Thunder headers on it in the first place. I believe those pipes were designed with an 82 cubic inch motor maybe an 88? A proper comparison would be your true duals vs some Vance and Hines or Freedom performance or Cobra 2 into 1 System design for a 103 engine. The two into one will blow away your true duals and most likely any other true dual system. Looks on the other hand is a completely different story.

If both your's and the competitor's systems were tuned for max power before the dyno runs were made, them I'm quite impressed. But otherwise it's not a realistic comparison at all. Can you explain what was done?

The bike was tuned with both sets of pipes. These are real numbers. Apples to apples, same bike under the same conditions. Don't believe it, come to the shop and let's put your bike to the challenge. Free system if what you have will outperform the MGS system.

If both pipes were tuned at the same time those number's would be a lot closer. There is no magic duals over a 2 into 1 set up with a proper tune that would produce that big of a difference. To any of us that know better, this makes you look like a con artist. Eight years old but I couldn't help myself.
