The most impressive thing about this is having a stadium packed with frenchmen sing in german. Till didn't even have to utter a damn word in the first half of the song. There aren't a lot of artists around that can make that happen.

I've seen a bunch of Japanese bands in the US, the crowd knows every word. During one of the several times i've seen Dir En Grey, Kyo actually gave up trying to sing the last verse of "The Final" and held the mic out to the crowd and let slip a rarity for him, a smile.

It’s not necessary the artist… French audiences are usually a blessing for any national or international artist because it is very fond of their(s) idol(s) and composed of devoted fans who sing along the artist during show, and every single song…

Their live shows are amazing! It's difficult to top shooting fireworks over the audience's head, but some live gems are Mein Teil, Engel, Feuer Frei, Puppe and Ich Tu dir weh.

Rammstein always have awesome videos, but their live shows are even beyond these. Here are some suggestions: "Sonne" (Live at Download Festival 2016) --> Hot as the name giving sun (Sonne = Sun) "Ich tu Dir weh" (Hurricane Festival / Rammstein Official) --> Great singing and insane stage action towards the end) "Mein Teil" (Live Hurricane Festival 2013) --> Read the story behind the song (a real case of cannibalism!) first „Willst Du das Bett in Flammen Sehn" (Paris Version) --> Pyro Fashion, power, everything that Rammstein stands for "Benzin" (Madison Square Garden) --> Benzin = Gasoline --> burns well. And maybe also a man? There are of course a lot more insane live videos of them: "Links 2,3,4", Engel, "Mann gegen Mann", "Mutter", "Feuer Frei", "Ich will", ... Have fun and rock on! Paris is more a concert movie with post production and released as Directors Cut“. You have to be aware that here a German band is playing in Paris / New York and the French / American audience is singing along in German. I just saw them live in Prague and let me tell you this: they didn't do anything extra for the Paris live recording. These guys did everything you've ever seen in live videos. It was over the top and the sound was on another level. What a show they put out! It's insane. And of course in Du Hast they did the pyro/firework thing followed by the confetti all over the stadium. They're fucking insane live. That's all haha

Several (if I'm not mistaken) of them are trained in pyrotechnics, they got it after an incident at a show where a cloth caught fire during the show.

@@Templarofsteel88 i read that first only one had the "big license", and then all others needed to get some licenses too, to avoid having a firefighter with a fire extinguisher standing behind each of them. even if other people now would partially be responsible and reduce the work for them, they themselves have to be on stage between all the (literally) hot effects, which still requires knowledge where to move and what to do, and some experience.

I saw them in 2019. The pyro was insane. I stood between two towers that were shooting flames as well and you could feel the heat! They went absolute bonkers with lights, flames and other effects. They needed 40 trucks for the stage alone. (Or something like that)

I saw Rammstein a couple of weeks ago in Cardiff. They are soooooooo fantastic live!! The amount of fire, fake blood and jizz.... Very little is an "effect".

On the Paris Live DVD every song had one digital effect put into it by the director... Du Hast was the lightning, in one of the other songs Till had a long snake tongue, etc etc etc ... For recommendations... Engel live at the Garden (on their channel ... It's part of the In America live DVD) ... Honestly you can pick pritty much anything live and have something special... Shoot you can even do a now and then thing and do an early live version of Rammstein and then the current 2019 live version and see how the visuals have actually evolved over time!

A small insight into rammstein live concerts was that. If there is a crown for pyrotechnics, it goes to this band. Stay with the live stuff. There are flamethrowers, flamepillars in the audience, a lot of boom, the two guitarists spit fire themselves while they play, there are burning people (really) and Flake (keyboard) is cooked. Next live "mein Teil". A song about cannibalism. The song was written after a true story in Germany. 2 men meet for dinner. On the menu is the penis of one of the two. With full consent. One died during the procedure. The other then split the other in pieces for the bad days when the little hunger comes. He became known as the cannibal of Rothenburg.

Mein Teil (Live at Hurricane) is pretty awsome, the song is based on a true crime case which made headlines back in the days. Mein Teil translates to my part or my piece but can also be slang for my 'male genital' and in this case, all three variations are correct! I love the video Du riechst so gut '98 (the song was their debut single in 1995 and they weren't happy with the first video anymore so they filmed a new one) but the original videos are on a higher risk of getting blocked.

The electricity is real, you can see the tesla coils on the stage, it was cleaned up in post to make it more consistent, but yes they do actually do it live. Metallica also does it with tesla coils during Ride The Lightning sometimes, there's a rather infamous performance during the "Through The Never" show where they shorted out the mics and guitars for a few seconds. You can control electricity coming off a tesla coil to a degree, as long as you don't touch the wrong thing and complete the circuit, then you get fried. Metallica got lucky because it stayed in the sound system, but they also weren't running it through their bodies like Flake did here.

rammstein was my very first metal concert seen in the stadium I can guarantee you that you can feel all the heat of the flames and I think they are one of the very few bands that guarantees a pyrotechnic and audiovisual show, if you have the opportunity to participate in the us stadium tour do it, because I guarantee you that all the other bands that you will listen to after you will not see them as before after this experience 😂

The lightning effects could have been spared in post-production. Rammstein does not need to fake pyro effects. The slow motion trick with the explosion on stage is still understandable for me. The video was cut together from two performances and recordings from the rehearsal. As far as I know, Till only asked the audience to sing along with "Chantez!" in French on one evening. Take a look at the 2019 tour for pyro. Absolutely stunning. Doesn't take anything away from this performance but they do have more exciting examples-Mein Teil, Puppe, Ich Tu Dir Weh, Feuer Frei, Du Reichst So Gut, 2019 version of Du Hast (from outside the stadium it looks like a cross between a massive thunderstorm and a huge, ongoing explosion). Watch "Sonne" or any other song from the concert in Moscow, St. Petersburg or Dresden... Moscow 93,000 people, St. Petersburg 80,000 people, Dresden 60,000 people... Rammstein concerts are epic.

You know what's funny. You're speechless because of the stage and all but right know they're using 36 meters up and 60 meters wide stage, 1300 tons of metal and equipment, 90 trucks and they need 6 days to build the stage so the Band has two stages. You really should check rammstein Europe stadium tour 2022 on YT, Rammstein is state of the art at the moment.

Great reaction, thanks guys. The lightning is after effects and was done in post production. Evertything else is real. The singer (Till Lindemann) is a certified pyrotechnician. They did two shows in Paris back then and one rehearsal show before where they did extra shots for the video in costumes and with special make up. In the end all the best scenes of the three days were put together.
