These are kids, given tools to be passionate about music, allowing them to play because they love it. Some of which, not typical instruments either. I think it’s amazing, for them, and for what they now may want to pass on to their kids one day. It’s a shame that so many people have negative thoughts or comments on this.
@myotiswii2 жыл бұрын
1. There are barely any negative comments 2. Some of these instruments the 'kids' are playing on, are 20 thousand dollars. They clearly know what they are doing, even just judging from the like 100k in equipment on the stage lol. 3. The instruments aren't unusual for a percussion ensemble

foxdk Marimba is hard fast
@foxdk7 жыл бұрын
I'm aware. I have played in quite a few marimba ensembles myself. That still doesn't change the fact that this was too slow. The original piece from AC/DC runs at a steady 133 bpm, which makes it lively and keeps you on the edge of your seat. This cover was dragging its ass along the pavement, sinking as low as 125 bpm at times. I play a lot of instruments, but my main call in life is as the drummer. The last decade of me playing drums, has taught me that the number one important thing in any song, is keeping the tempo right. This ensemble did not manage to do that, even though the thought was spot on.
@sethcragan69087 жыл бұрын
foxdk I'm with you, to me the guitarist was completely out of sync. and the bass player could not stay in the pocket at all. that being said I do applaud their attempt.
@hanksmith67447 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the glockenspiel would get off every now and again, and the boards had issues staying together. I the guitars would go in between staying with the groove and just doing there own things. And while it is hard to play marimba fast, it is still necessary for a song like this.

Concept great. Execution not so much. And in answer to the inevitable: No, I *couldn't* do better. But I'm not a drummer. And this was a letdown after the Sugarfoot Moffett (sp?) video I just watched.

I am a percussionist who started with the bells and tympani, adding more instruments over the years to where I now play trapset. That was very well done and I have played percussion ensemble pieces.

the first time i heard this played, if i remember it was played live in a club and it was amazing....no AC/DC but a very good band who did not adulterate the music. hearing this sort of brings it all back...good times way back when

When you get so many percussionists and drummers in one performance that there is literally no chance of anyone keeping time.

Foxy Sausage I mean, they had a conductor... But all he ever did was clap his hands in the air, so... Yeah lol

As someone with a relatively good sense, this bothered me, although it is a bit charming when you hear the dude with a drum set get excited at 5:50 and then calm back down XD

Nah dude; we got a really good high-school drum line with around 15-20 drummers and they can hit the nail on the head with each other :)

Have you seen the video for 1000 drummers playing nirvana they're all on point so clearly its about not having rhythm and still trying to make it work

Nothing was in time either individually or together. Sometimes they hit the right notes though - and that was refreshing.

This just demonstrates you can’t tie music down, you can interpret music in any way that floats your boat, this is well performed and I guess to produce it so good must be difficult, well done to all performers.

I just came across this. I know a little about music. The naysayers only know how to promote negativity. I'll leave that right there! These beautiful children worked so very hard to arrive on this stage. And what a wonderful job they did. Left me smiling and applauding.
