A cadence I wrote for my school's drumline. This is my first real music piece, and I would appreciate any advice or constructive criticism.

Put the accents above the notes stems and stickings (RLRL) below the noteheads. Incorporate dynamics to create more tension and release in the music. I really like the 4 on the floor in the bass drums and the syncopated 16th accents in the upper battery! Keep up the good work! :)

Thanks! I’m pretty new to MuseScore and didn’t know how to do that at the time of making this video, but I’ll try to remember next time!

What I had noticed is that it is really repetitive and may bore your audience add more diversity in rhythm with different phrases. I would listen to other cadences online where you can take sections of it and modify them and insert it into your cadence. Also, As a quads player, some of the composition is cumbersome to play, you need to consider what drums to place your rhythms on, for example: the rhythm at measure 17 with the diddles going into the descending 8th notes from drums 2 to 3 is an awkward run, I would change drums 2 and 3 to 3 and 4, this would be easier to play. Besides that, well done on your first ever composition!

Drum cadences are usually supposed to be repetitive, such as jig 2
