@@esperancafernandes7789 Yes, I was thinking she should get around $75 USD to get a reasonable return for that beautiful little bag but it wouldn't sell at a craft fair at that price. I remember seeing a Hawaiian quilt for sale at a shop on the Big Island about 30 years ago. It was for a King Size bed and they were asking $6000 USD! I kind of gasped out loud. I bought a pattern for a Full Size and bought the fabric for two colors and the batting and thread thinking, "Hah! Mine I could sell for about $250!" Well, after working on it in my spare time and getting pretty sick of it because the color scheme was pretty tiring and after a year I'd only finished 1/4 of it that 6K was starting to look like a pretty reasonable asking price. I have no good suggestion for how a person might make a living making such beautiful things for an appreciative public. "I" know what is involved in such things but I'm in a minority.

Bengali, Indian here....We have been making quilts in this way since probably forever, and we call it "কাঁথা"/kantha. My thakuma, dida(grandmothers) and my mother stitches and recycles scraps of old clothes and makes kantha, i.e quilts that we use in rainy season or in fall season.

This made my realize that almost anyone CAN! We simply need to be willing to invest the time. Even more surprising is the satisfaction from doing this type of creative work, because it's that rare combination of engaging AND relaxing. Handicrafting useful items is meditative and stress-relieving ❤ My current favourite is bread making. I feed my family and make friends with my neighbors. No one's ever refused a warm, homemade loaf! 😊
