DIY Sleeveless Linen Maxi Dress | Linen Dress | Summer Dress

Thank you Thuy for sharing this simple yet elegant maxi dress. I'm fairly new to sewing garments so I wanted to learn the skill a little bit before making this dress. I finally got around to making it. Since I have a D cup, I had to make a few mockups to eliminate the gapping at the armholes. The rest of the maxi dress was simple once I perfected the front armholes. My linen fabric is see through so I extended my lining 6 inches below my hips. I French seamed the pockets and all the seams up to the lining and I serged the seams under the lining. The pockets were flopping around which made it hard to put my hands in so I sewed them to the front of my lining and now I have no more issues with the pockets. My dress is almost complete. I am letting it hang for a couple of days before hemming it because I think the dress is cut on the bias in some areas. I'm going to hand stitch the hem because I do not want thread showing on the hemline.

I like loose chothing nothing tie to the body, but I dont know how to make the pattern custom to my own measurements. It is beautiful, and the fabric as well. Hobby Lobby has an Indian type of linen quiet different from the American but nice too. That is the bodice video but for the length of the dress do you also have another video?

I just made this maxi dress and the directions is correct. You need that extra 10cm for the flowy design ease. LOL I experimented by adding more than 10cm and my test sample was horribly huge. The 10cm added the perfect design fit for me. You can always make a test muslin to find your perfect fit but I have a feeling that you will be happy with the additional 10cm.
