Brings back memories of driving the really OLD dumpers when I worked on building sites. Handle start (if it gets stuck - RUN), no power steering, manual skip. The new ones are unbelievable. I'm bloody jealous !!

A handy machine that young lady. Dumper's are usually the most abused machine on any site. I never understood why it took 50+ years before some clever clogs said "Lets put a cab on a dumper" to the management. The weather in the UK is generally crap and dumper driver's have suffered bad backs and shitty weather for far too long.

Back in the 1970s and 80s our local Parks and Reserves Department was using several WW2 surplus dumpers, obviously without pivot steer. The modern kit is vastly superior. N.B. The baggage handlers at the city airport were using WW2 aircraft carrier plane tugs to pull the baggage carts.

Good video. Thank you. As a carpenter, I can say that there have been plenty of times when a piece of timber has been a more appropriate hammer than a 20oz framing hammer. I noticed that your ball pein hammer has a fibreglass handle. Fibreglass handled hammers can be nice to use BUT if the handle shows any sign of damage, toss it before it shatters and the hammer head goes flying. Very few carpenters use fibreglass handled hammers because the handles can shatter without warning. I do not tolerate them on any job that I am running.

Rookie question… where do I add hydraulic/gear box fluid? And, how do I know if it needs to be topped up?
@CalamityKim19 ай бұрын
So there’s no gearbox fluid because it’s hydraulic driven. Where the gearbox tank is, from memory there’s a round screen and the red dog in the middle. The oil needs to be on the red dot in the middle.
@stevem97769 ай бұрын
Thanks, very much appreciated. I’ll try and find it - just worried I put it in the wrong place! It keeps sticking in ‘park’ when i try to drive forward/backward … and I was hoping a bit of lubricant would solve it! Probably a more significant issue! Great vids by the way - a real talent. Steve

Why would they use plastic bushings on such an important and high stress area??
@CalamityKim12 жыл бұрын
I’d assume it’s because it’ll wear before the pin. It’s cheaper to wear plastic bushes than metal ones.
