I now know how this works, but why can’t it just be as simple as pressing zero and the displaying the intersects? There are just 2 of them

PyroX Because signs tend to be problematic on graphing calculators, and given that you need to set boundaries for both zeroes it can become easier for the calculator to understand that a negative zero is also not positive.

What does he mean by "get a conformation from the calculator?"

When he said -2, 3 then we want to get a confirmation, because he got those numbers visually (by looking at the graph and counting the short lines). By confirming with the calculator, we can see -2, 3 shown on the graph, because it could have been other numbers. So basically it’s just to make sure by using the calculator itself following the steps.
