Bak Chor mee must stir and mix well, even for Lor mee add a little chilli , garlic and must mix well, fried Hokkien mee too ; Singapore noodle mostly all must mix well before you eat because all sauces is at the bottom enjoy 😃
You forgot to stir/mix the sauces with the bar chor mee before eating. Hence you commented that it tasted better as you ate more LOL as the sauces are all at the bottom!

It is because our National Day (9 August) is reaching and we have NDP (National Day Parade) rehearsals from a few months before that. So you will see/hear more of the jets. Hehe.

If you liked the娘惹杯餅, I highly recommend trying the version at a peranakan restaurant (e.g. Blue Ginger, Violet Oon) - the Kueh Pie Tee in restaurants are usually savoury, and I personally always loveee them!

The fighter jets are coming from the National Day Parade rehearsal happening at the Marina Bay every Saturday from 5.30pm till 8.30pm. Best place to view the jets, cannon salute, parachutes and fireworks is at the Merlion Park or Esplanade.
There is also a chinese hot dessert shop which you can savor and spend your remaining $3.3, the stall is in the blue section of the hawker centre.

Both of u can consider go to the wet market at basement 1. The fresh produce are cheaper than FairPrice supermarket. Towards the corner, there is a sundry stall which sells some specific products from Hong Kong like 虾酱和fermented 豆乳.

Just a question, whenever you guys go to restaurant and pub they are always crowded. Then how the Singaporean has the money to spend?

Hahaha you can do the same challange again at the same hawker because seriously there are tons of good stalls there as it is the biggest hawker in Singapore. Majority of the people there speaks or at least understand Cantonese. If you order Cantonese food like roast meats 100% the stall owners speaks cantonese. If you walk around the market you can hear especially the elders conversing in Cantonese.

可能我是新加坡人,愛吃辣😊 肉脞面不放辣椒哪裏會好吃啊? 水粿也是一樣,放多一點辣椒就更好吃啦👍😋

Popiah is a hokkein dish. Is quite a traditional to eat during 1st day of CNY for hokkein. In Singapore you can try the different Chinese style of food. From hokkein, teochew, cantonese, nyonya, hakka, hainanese (not chicken rice)... Dry Bar chor mee (of any stall) i will request more black vinegar to enhance the taste. Chewh Kueh is not Malaysian food. It originate from Teochew, Guangdong. (Teochew people can be from Fujian or Guangdong). There are two versions of caipoh versions in Singapore. One is sweeter version, one is saltier version in Singapore. I believe the Chinatown is sweeter and the Tiong Bahru one may be saltier. Down to personal preference. Chinatown do not have air force base. Probably a NDP (National Day Parade) rehersal to prepare for national day on 9 August. If you want stronger tea and less sweet, you may call Teh Peng -Gao Siew Dai or Siew Siew Dai (strong ice tea, less sweet or less less sweet). If you want evaporated milk instead of condensed milk, you may order Teh-C Peng, Gao, Siew Dai or Siew Siew Dai.
2 decades ago $20 could buy you 10 bowls of minced pork noodles in chinatown hawker centre without queueing clearing trays after eating.Just place your order, wait for food to be delivered to you and just leave after eating. These days $20 cannot buy you much and for big eaters , it is cheaper to go for korean barbecue buffet or steamboat buffet costing $ 30 per person with 3 hrs non stop eating with free flow of drinks in airconditioned environment.
