The questions in this interview are terrible. You can tell in his face. He in disbelief at how awful they are. Then the interviewee doubles down and is like "if not Mia, then who?" He quickly side steps and said we wouldn't have made the movie. Obviously signaling to move on to a better question

i put off watching pearl because i wasnt the biggest fan of X and horror in general (HUGE fan of genre-bending horror like army of darkness,etc) but boy was i wrong about pearl. a perfect movie
