Hi! Could you help me with my problem? I’m using TIA Portal V18 and S7-PLCSIM v18 for simulation. I can start the simulation relatively well. The problem is that when I make changes to the program, the simulation software freezes. Here’s how I make changes: I stop the PLC in the simulation software, then I make changes in the program, for example by adding a button. Then, when I try to load the new program into the PLC, the simulation software freezes. What am I doing wrong? In what order should I proceed to make it work? I’m going crazy with Siemens!

I am trying to do a PLCSIM PLC communicate to a real IOT2040, you on 10:10 added that it could communicate to a real PLC, but i cannot and reading the PLC SIM advanced manual chapter 4 it has no record of it working with real hardware. Could you clarify that?

@Hegamurl do you know where I can find differences between a PLCSIM Advanced running with a Virtual Eth Adapter and a physical PLC? And in most cases do you need a physical PLC, if you run Virtual Eth Adapter and connect to a switch leading to peripherals that you want to test? Cheers!

Hi Hegamurl, Very thanks for your video! It's help to me! Regarding the Cyclic Interrupt OBs (OB 30), it can be emulate in PLC Sim Advanced right? Example, I wrote some calculate program in Cyclic interrupt OB. So, I would like to ensure those calculate program will not exceed the watchdog timer ! :)

I do not find doing step by step cycle in PLCSIM V15 compared to the old one. What a bummer. I do not understand why they do not included this feature. For 1200 and 1500 CPUs now you can simulate in run or stop mode only.

Hello, thank you for your great lectures. I am a beginner in this and I am trying now to install plcsim V15.1 as I already installed TIA v15.1 trial. However I keep getting message after unpacking plcsim: cannot install plcsim v15.1 an error occurred. please check the log file. Any advise how to tackle this issue as I could not find any solution online yet. Hopefully you can support on this, i am using it for academic purposes only.

Hi there, very useul video indeed. I have been working with the advanced version for over a year now. I wonder if you know of any other program (not from Siemens) that can also emulate a PLC and even connect with TIA. I usually use Plant Simulation, PLCSIM Advanced and TIA for some Software-in-the-loop testing. Would it be possible doing the same SiL without using PLCSIM Advanded?

The Target HMI_RT_1 in the offline project is different from the target in the online project" I've tried researching online and no luck with anything specific. The way I read it from Siemens Support its one Thread per PLC, so for most CPU's twice as many. But sadly its even worse than you said, because "For S7-PLCSIM Advanced there is a limit of 2 instances per license." That means in order to use these 16 virtual PLC's you have to pay 16000€... are they serious?
