Seeing a young black british woman wearing braids singing a gentle rnb song expressing vulnerability through a yearning for better peaceful days, man black british music has come such a loooooooong way and the tears are freely flowing because there's so much beauty in a human's full expression of potential, particularly in this context. This is a phenomenal song.

@@JohnSmith-tb8kh So this is your admission that despite no one forcing you to reply under a comment that isn't yours and having neither the range nor mental ability to engage, even at a basic level, with the history of racism in either the UK or US music business, you choose to show off your dull and lazy ignorance. What's my ignorance?
@rahbeeuh4 ай бұрын
@@JohnSmith-tb8khColorblindness in regards to race is dangerous, ignorant, and dismissive because it undermines the very real and pervasive impact of systemic racism on marginalized communities. By claiming not to see race, individuals fail to acknowledge the historical context of discrimination and inequality that continue to shape society today. Such an approach ignores the experiences and struggles of Black and other people of color, perpetuating a cycle of erasure and avoiding difficult conversations about race. Furthermore, colorblindness promotes a false sense of equality, suggesting that everyone is on a level playing field when in reality, racial disparities persist in areas such as education, employment, healthcare, and criminal justice. By ignoring race, folks fail to address these disparities and to work towards meaningful solutions for achieving true equality and justice. Additionally, being colorblind dismisses the richness and diversity of different racial and ethnic backgrounds. It erases the importance of cultural heritage, traditions, and experiences that shape individuals' identities and perspectives. Embracing and celebrating racial differences can foster understanding, empathy, and unity among communities, while ignoring these differences only serves to further divide and alienate. It might seem like the opposite is true but I can assure you it's absolutely not. Finally, "I don't see color" is a harmful mindset that prevents progress towards a truly inclusive and equitable society. It's imperative to recognize and acknowledge race in order to address the systemic inequalities that persist and work towards creating a more just and compassionate world for everyone. Ignorance only sets us back while maintaining the status quo.

My new favorite song. This is what I desire. A guy I can lay next to in peaceful silence. He could be working on the computer or playing a game or making something and I'm just watching him peacefully and vice versa. Comfortable. Saftey. Still like water but full of life. And then I want warmth and fire. Coziness. Saftey.
