What people don’t understand is that sometimes it’s done on purpose. Not always but sometimes there testing something or because the ride runs on sensors

Because changing the theming and getting the old characters out was their biggest concern, they simply didn’t care as much about actually fixing the ride system.

This happens all the time with new rides I remember back in 2016 frozen was constantly breaking down left and right this isn’t new

Considering Tiana's is using the same ride system as Splash, I would imagine the constant shutdowns must have something to do with some newly implemented component. I know the new animatronics are sensor-activated so perhaps the issue is with the sensors and the animatronics are remaining static when they shouldn't. That's just speculation, though. I can't imagine the shutdowns are due to a safety issue; I can't see how the ride would be rendered unsafe from a refurbishment, unless they really screwed something up during the calculations for the retheme. In a perfect world we would have a fully functioning Tiana's Bayou Adventure AND Splash Mountain, rather than one replacing the other.

I have heard folks speculate that too that the sensors are not working properly for activation of scenes and animatronics. Splash had continuous scenes running, not timed to vehicle placement within the attraction scenes.

This ride should not only close to fix the ride system it requires a properly conceived storyline with a little bit of suspense at the final drop, fully operating animatronics and something more to look at between the featured scenes. Not Disney's greatest achievement.

Omg We went on it for the second time today. There were probably four or five animatronics that were not working, and this was my dad's first time on the ride. However, there were parts that we didn't even get the experience on the first round That worked this time😅 like the special lighting effect going up the drop and mama odies speech..😅😅

It's absolutely funny to me that Disney spent all this time and money to reskin this attraction and to have not only with the ride system but also the animatronics failing or malfunctioning so badly. issues with Tron lighting effects and the exterior of the ride being absolutely filthy. the absolute waste of money that is Epcot. Pair that with the obscene handling of Star Wars. These are the tip of the iceberg. Universal puts out a new nighttime lagoon show that puts all that Disney has attempted to accomplish to shame. And it's just a fountain/drone show. Just wait until Epic Universe opens and Disney literally has nothing to combat the absolute beating they're taking.

@@MouseSecrets I saw it on KZbin and it's incredible! You'll love it! Trust me! It's definitely one of Universal's best theme park offerings that not even Disney themselves could pull off! Wish they would create a brand-new nighttime spectacular that's similar to Cinesational, but I doubt that'll ever happen!

This is further proof that Tiana's Bayou Adventure was DOA. Not only was it a re-theme that NOBODY actually asked for expect for a small vocal and fragile attention-seeking minority on social media, but it was also a lazy, half-baked, uninspired, forgettable, and bland-as-hell replacement of a timeless, engaging, memorable, iconic, and beloved fan-favorite ride. Disasters like this along with the newly-opened Communicore Hall are definitely gonna make this summer the WORST one for the American Disney Parks since 2019, which is five years ago to be exact.

Agree keep it closed and fix it. If you need people to set the ride ask for volunteers. (Soft openings) You’ll ruin the magic of the ride for first timers. Thanks Steve. Enjoy the chats.

And everything I’m reading shows it has been another day plagued with closings, even fire department called in to take people off. It’s crazy to me!

I think the passholder previews are a marketing ploy to make it seem like a perk that doesn't cost the company anything. They were probably running behind the timeline to be ready to launch and are just going with it to avoid the public disappointment. We thought about skipping the previews for this because it's literally splash mountain😂 but not working apparently. I thought it would be more crowded with the whole reservation thing and MK being sold out for the preview days. They should open the store and the restaurant if that's ready since that's more accessible then the ride. I also think releasing the full POV was such a spoiler I don't feel the need to make a reservation wake up early for VQ and all that.... that's not how we like to do the parks anyways we are more spontaneous go with the flow kinda park folks. There isn't anything we must ride everytime ...there is always next time

They’ve never released a pov for a new attraction before it opens. That was an interesting move. I guess they feel passholders shouldn’t complain since they are given access to ride before the general public. That’s fine but then tell people the attraction is in testing and will frequently have issues.

Hi Steve! Yes, I agree with you on all counts! Shut the ride down and fix it. No one needs to be a test subject. They should open the shops with merch.

"Breakdown" is a noun. The verb form is "break down." They aren't even pronounced the same way; the former has the stress on the first syllable while the latter has it on the second. What did the space bar do to your generation to make you so averse to using it when it's called for?
