Tiana! I’m halfway through this video but oh my gosh I relate to what you are saying so much. The “how to” videos definitely get the most attention, but it’s not the content you want to make 100% of the time. Sometimes you just have a random topic in mind and you just want to sit down and talk about it without thinking about how it will perform! I remember driving in my car on the way to work about a year ago listening to your “how to start a candle business from home” video just dreaming of one day being at that point! For some reason I thought you had a you tube back in 2017 but you mentioned 2018. You are right I remember being a depressed stay at home mom and I said what if I make candles... Example: one lady made a video about testing candles . She lit up 2 candles, waited 3 hours and she picked the winner based only of that first 3 hours of burning!

I have a question! Anyone please chime in. So for tax purposes I remember you saying we needed to be sure to pay ourselves each month appropriately but do we include in that the money we reinvest back into the business? Maybe I am just tired and can't think straight lol.

For an LLC you do have to pay yourself. The reason for that is to separate you from your business. When I pay myself I write checks to myself and call them member distributions. Ideally you should pay yourself every month. Sometimes I move big chunks like the 10k and then do $40 on other months just to pay myself. The money you are reinvesting into your business needs to stay in your business account. That’s just how I do it.

You are welcome! I have an LLC and I am in the process of getting my trademark done. It takes quite a while to get the trademark approved. It's been about 5 months of waiting so far.

I have a bookkeeping team to work on this, but expenses get tricky when you are trying to reduce the amount of taxes you pay. If you want to know how much it took just to run my business then it was around $37,000, but I will expense other things as well. So idk how much I’ll end up paying in taxes yet.
