Yes, I was in Tianjin in 2015 (so it might be better now) and it was mostly pinyin rather than English on the route map signs. Fine if you know a little Chinese, but if you're needing to go to the railway station and don't know what TianJinZhan means...

@@penaltygallery Now the Tianjin metro is still like this, but there will be English translation at the railway station hub. Before, the station announcement of Line 9 was in English, but now it has become pinyin.
