Tibet was an independent nation until it was invaded and occupied by communist China 1949/50. Tibetan Buddhism comes from India and it culture is ahimsa like India. Tibet’s first king was an Indian who fled from India through the Himalayas after the war of the Pandavas and Kauvaras. One of the prince from the losing side fled to Tibet and was made king of Tibet by the Tibetan people. He was called Rupati! India must help Tibet to regain its independence from brutal Chinese occupation and ethnocide!

Historically, India had a friendly relationship with Tibet, which provided a buffer zone against Chinese aggression. However, since the annexation of Tibet by communist China in 1950, India's northern border has become increasingly vulnerable. In fact, Sardar Patel, India's former Deputy Prime Minister, wrote to Jawaharlal Nehru in 1950, highlighting the gravity of the situation and the potential consequences of China's actions in Tibet. Patel's words have proven prophetic, as India has since faced numerous border disputes and security threats from China. It is essential for India to reassess it's Tibet policy and declare Tibet as occupied territory and recognise Tibet Government in Exile.

India should have supported the Tibet cause much earlier. Anyway, it is not late. However the acceleration of support should be pressed to its peak. Then only desirable outcome can be materialized.

Sir, why did India and the whole world keep quiet at the occupation of Tibet in 1959?

@@gautamganguli1221You can’t blame it on Nehru alone because the newly independent India had to conform to the western powers still! I’m sure many decisions were made at the 1943 Cairo Conference: www.state.gov/u-s-relations-with-china

While tibet is not important to Nehru and other indian leaders, china understand it is the life of the nation. Hence it quickly captured tibet immediately after communist takeover of china

Manipur is being resolved.Don't expect overnight solutions to complex issues.Poverty is an ongoing battle. General prosperity is gradually rising since 1947 and it will take many decades more. And fascism never existed in India except under Indira Gandhi during the Emergency .
