I am from Lahoul and there are many words in our vocabulary that have come form Tibetan. for e.g. Ama , labuk etc. I have always been wanting to learn Tibetan. As I know Hindi , it is very easy to grasp the alphabets , but I guess there are many silent words in Tibetan.

RHL learning to speak Tibetan is easy but reading and writing needs lots of work and patience. Many Tibetans themselves have difficulty reading and writing if they don't practice regularly. This is because spoken Tibetan and written Tibetan are quite different unlike Hindi and English.
