Harold, thanks for supporting Tibetan business. 40% of India-based Tibetan refugees’ sole source of income is from these small businesses. These markets are called Tibetan refugee market because rent is only given to Tibetans and since nowadays China has highly restricted border areas since 2008, you see less and less Tibetans who come from Tibet directly. Most of these people are 2nd generation Tibetans whose parents fled Tibet into exile from 1959 onwards.

This was the best market hunt yet! The little ladies in the tent that actually were hand making the clothes, carpets and the blankets with the sheep wool were so neat to see and hear about!! And then that little lady that let you in to see her neat home, she was so warm and welcoming, she was just such a sweetheart!!💛💛 I smiled when you gave her that little gift, she was just so sweet 😊The shops in this one were just next level interesting 🤩 I LOVED all those different, ornate looking, treasure chests all over the place that so many of them seemed to have. 🤩🤩🤩 There was just so many neat, beautiful treasures everywhere in those shops!
