When I first saw TTD's salmon-colored set with all of its new looks, and new podiums for the players and for host Jim Caldwell, it took me aback at first. I missed the 1978-85 set complete with wood all around. Glad they kept the gameboard the way it was for the 85-86 season, which was its last along with The Joker's Wild. I read somewhere, by the way, where if TJW was going to be renewed for 1986-87, they would have had a new set.

I have long thought that Tic Tac Dough needs to be brought back onto TV. Should it return on a mainstream network in primetime, they would need to do a bit of retooling of the bonus round to offer million-dollar cash prizes, and I've thought of three possible ways they could do so: 1) have the 9 numbers hide 6 money bags and 3 dragons, with the first money bag found being $25,000, the second $50,000, the third $100,000, the 4th $250,000, the fifth $500,000, and the last one being $1,000,000, with, of course, finding any of the three dragons forfeiting money won. 2) Do like the $1,000,000 Chance of a Lifetime did and after a bonus round win, give the contestant the option to leave or give back the money won to take on another opponent, with winning the bonus round 3 times giving the contestant $1,000,000, and, of course, being defeated by an opponent or the dragon ending that champion's reign. 3) If, in the bonus round, a contestant wins by finding the tic and the tac, the contestant earns the right to play a bonus round to the bonus round, where seven of the nine numbers contain $10,000 through $100,000, with the other two numbers each concealing half of a gold bar, with the left half labeled "$1,00" and the right half labeled "0,000". The contestant only gets to pick one number, and he or she wins whatever dollar amount he or she finds, unless he or she uncovers either half of the gold bar, in which case he or she gets to pick a second number. If he or she picks one of the $10,000 through $100,000 spaces, that's what he or she wins, but if he or she finds the other half of the gold bar, he or she wins $1,000,000.

Should there be a new TTD, keep the Wink Martindale era open/close theme, the same think music for center square, and same win cues. And then... -new car after 5 wins(Match Game-Hollywood Squares Hour theme mostly, sometimes Big Banana, etc.). -bonus round(TPIR cue associated with home furnishings, and maybe a car or boat tossed in... which you could hear in the beginning of the "Concentration Jack Narz part 3" clip. -Get the dragon(loser TPIR horn after the dragon's roar).

Just leave the cues alone. MG/BT/Mark Goodson/FreeMantle Media cues should not be intermixed with B&E game shows, save the "Wheel of Fortune" theme from the Woolery/Sajak and Stafford years.

These sound like the cues that came from the last year or two of the show. I dont know what that guy is complaning about, so you missed a couple of prize cues, big deal, you could always do the rest later! Unfortunately that cue was not on the TTD "album" reel that Hal Hidey had sent me years ago. The reel didn't include every cue and some of the cues on the reel weren't complete. That was the only material related to TTD that Mr. Hidey was able to locate at the time.

I heard tic tac dough is coming back with Tom Bergeron. The only differences I would like to see in the main game is the opponent get to answer the question if the player in control gets it wrong. The other is special categories only for the person who selected the category. By that I mean, seesaw, auction, top 10 (this), etc would be out. Play or Pass would be similar if the player passes the question, but the answer won't be revealed unless A) the person in control gets the next question right, B) the opponent answers the passed question correctly, or C) the opponent goes for the next question passing the 1st question. Then the last question, either answered correctly or incorrectly is revealed. Special categories can shuffle into the center box. So let's say secret category is there, instead of doubling the pot, it would triple the pot plus carry the required two question center box rules to earn the box. Grand question would add $2000 to the pot. Take a letter would be a red category with a a-z list of questions that the player in control selects. Bonus game: Increase the dollar amounts, but add "DOUGH" to the board with TIC and TAC. Get the required amount of money you win, get tic tac dough, you double what you've got or a flat dollar amount, whichever is higher, and if you get TIC TAC DOUGH in order, you get a grand prize of $100k or more. If the contestant didn't find the dragon, whether they won or stopped, dragon finder for the losing contestant. If they fail on one call, then a member of the audience can play.
@Rlotpir1972 Жыл бұрын
Good setup, but here's what I think should be: Main game: Regular catagories are in blue. Outer boxes $1000, center box $1500. In the event of a tie, a new game forms with the other boxes $2000 and the center box $3000. If a second tie happen, then the next will be $3000 outer and $4500 center, and so forth. Jump-in catagories will be in play as the box is in brown and only in the outer boxes. Both players can answer. The box with be double the value. Special catagories will be in play in green boxes. Only one in the first game, two in the second, and three in the third. For the 'Super Grand Question', the player will chose a box 1-9 and the value can be between $1000-$9000 and can only be played once. Same rule with "Double or Nothing" and "Three to Win". Dragon catagories will be in play in red boxes. Player answers correctly and earns a dragon amulet to be used in the bonus game. Bonus game: The board consists of 25 boxes in rows of fives. Reach the top, avoid the dragons, and get the 'WIN' and win $50,000. Player can stop at any time to collect the pot. Here's what the board would look like when revealed: Level 5: Dragon-Dragon-WIN-Dragon-Dragon Level 4: Dragon-Dragon-$5000-Dragon-$4000 Level 3: Dragon-$2500-$3500-Dragon-$3000 Level 2: $1750-$1250-Dragon-$2000-$1500 Level 1: $800-$600-$200-$1000-$400 Note: A player can use an amulet (earned in the main game) on any level to eliminate one of the dragons in a level BEFORE a player selects a number.
