47:25 reminds me of soccer where ball bounces and then bounces back into the net. Counts as a goal.

Great insights into the entrepreneurial process Matt. If the time ever comes, you’ll have plenty of opportunities outside of poker if you choose to pursue them.

The EV problem in survival pools after threshold population, is the same as the lottery problem…if there are enough entries, you are more likely than not playing for half or less of the total singular win.

Yeah I would love to watch the new season of high stakes poker or no gamble no future, unfortunately I don't have the money for a subscription. Paywalls in poker fucking suck. Considering Cary Katz made his money in predatory loans, you'd figure he'd throw us a bone in the poker community. All about that money though.

Listening to the NFL debates about how much is unfair in the rules and refereeing, it is hilarious how the same people can have problems with something as simple as the offside rule in soccer.

I enjoyed how you all did poker goals but no one mentioned a $ figure they want to make.. because poker isn't about winning money.. It's about talking about poker. It's the reverse of fight club.

@@davemanassen9582 can't control the dollar amount won, can only control volume and effort. That's why our goals are process oriented.
@davemanassen958215 күн бұрын
@@SolveForWhy I'd challenge that. If you didn't think you could make $500k (assuming I'm talking with Berkey here) you wouldn't play. In your head you definitely have a goal to make $x this year. You just don't want to share it incase you miss. Even if it's a range, there's a point to which you'd be greatly disappointed and a point at which you'd be satisfied. We all play, we all know it's about $ made at the end of the day. There isn't a participation award. Especially for people that put "professional poker player" as their occupation.
@SolveForWhy15 күн бұрын
@davemanassen9582 it just doesn't matter. If I play x hours, then my results should be within one or two standard deviations of my hourly. If I want to make more money than that, then I need to change the variables I can control, i.e., hours played, hours studied, or stakes. Arbitrarily putting a number out there isn't really meaningful.
@davemanassen958215 күн бұрын
@@SolveForWhy Okay, I can accept that. New point :) Do you think the listeners would rather hear about you guys setting goals around playing more hours and doing more study? Or do you think they'd like to see you set $ targets and try and achieve those? Maybe some bets in-between you all? Just a thought.
