@@AdrianMunch I think some might argue that it’s clearly established law in Michigan. Now does the law equal a constitutional right? I argue they should be equal, but I’ve no legal scholar. Certainly they would be open to civil lawsuits, and they probably would settle out of court simply because nobody would want their dirty laundry brought out into the public square for everyone to look at. Just imagine if some lawyer said I want to see your communications records Regarding quotes and I want to see your OT records. That police department would not want to produce those records because someone could start connecting the dots and nobody wants their laundry out in the square even if you get the guilty verdict, the public gets to find out how you conduct business.

The biggest misconception of this story is that there is only "one department" that uses a quota system. The truth is that EVERY DEPARTMENT across the country is data driven. They may not use the term "quota", but every department requires its officers to turn in some type of numbers monthly. They rely on those numbers to receive/increase state and federal budgets.

This isn't the only disservice the Lincoln Park PD does. Back in 2018 I had an epileptic seizure on the way to work, during which my bike was stolen near the post office. When I tried reporting it to them, they told me they couldn't do anything because I don't live in the city. The crime occurred in their jurisdiction, but apparently only residents are allowed justice in Lincoln Park, according to the Lincoln Park Police Department.

Reminds me of the Utah Department of Wildlife Resources who were recently in the news for pulling people over on the highways and giving out speeding tickets. Apparently one of the things that really shocked people is that the DWR officers don’t have radar guns so they were pulling people over and giving tickets for what they “perceived” as speeding. Utah no longer has quotas as it was made illegal. However when interviewed the police chief said it wasn’t a quota because those are illegal, the wildlife officers are just required to document one violation every 23 hours as part of a “performance review”

I can easily see officers writing at least one ticket daily. Just driving to the grocery store and back. Drivers are not stopping before coming off side streets, weaving in and out of traffic, tailgating etc.. But it also depends on population I would guess. Just drive civilized and you shouldn't get pulled over.

My opinion if there’s a quota, they don’t care who they pull over and they might even have you do it DUI roadside test and say you’re positive that you fail parts of the test and incarcerate you because they have quotes that’s why their camera should never get shut off, except when they walk to a bathroom sign that either has a male or female sign on it and when they leave the bathroom, turn it on looking at the male or female bathroom sign that’s the only time it should ever be off. And every day the public should be able to download all of that information. If so, please they should never hold it back even if it goes to court my opinion.
