I wish the winners could sit down and actually listen to how they played and sounded. Honestly, their diehard fans need to hear other band's performances as well to gain some perspective. Their diehard fans are living in a bubble. I’m not saying this to be harsh but come on, let’s get realistic Even someone with zero music knowledge could tell the difference between a good performance and whatever that was. It wasn’t just a bad performance, it was flat-out embarrassing. What exactly was good about their performance? It's not like they stood out overall? What part of their act stood out? Not like the musicians stand out or they were very skilled not saying they are not but compare to others musicians, and the vocals, let's not even go there I won't say anything. How can anyone pretend that this was a winning act? It’s insulting to anyone who knows music. What was even remotely good about them? Their timing was off in between, and the whole thing lacked tightness and energy. I honestly don't know how anyone with ears could sit through that and not differentiate. If I have to be the one to say it, fine: there are far better and more skilled musicians who got snubbed, and it’s beyond obvious. From the moment I saw certain bands not make the final cut, I knew something shady was going on. The selection process was a joke, and it was clear from the beginning that this wasn’t going to end well. By the time the winners were about to be announced, I had zero doubt that the most deserving band wouldn’t win and I was right. It’s like the whole thing was scripted to ensure a band from Nagaland walked away with the prize, regardless of talent. When I saw Papersky win both Best Bassist and Best Drummer, I knew the competition had turned into a farce. Why are we handing out awards to people just to make them feel better about not winning? This is supposed to be about recognizing the best, not consoling people who don’t deserve it. And let’s not forget, there were far more talented musicians in that category who were blatantly ignored. What is this, a charity event or a serious competition? This isn’t the first time something like this has happened either. I still remember the year when the Best Drummer award went to a girl simply because she was the only female in the hornbill contest. No disrespect to her, I'm not saying women can’t be great musicians, but she won with basic, simple beats and somehow she walked away with the title. it felt more like a token gesture than a recognition of talent. It’s insulting to anyone who actually puts in the work to be great. The real talent was with bands like Papersky, Kapow, and The Prophets. They were tight, they were skilled, and they actually deserved recognition. But instead, we had to sit through this nonsense. And seriously, let’s talk about The Prophets, how in the world did they lose? This is the same band that took 1st runners-up at Hornbill in 2017 and won Shirock in 2022. But somehow, they lost to Fifth Note? Fifth Note? You’ve got to be kidding me. If anyone thinks I’m overreacting, go ahead, watch Fifth Note live and watch the prophets live then come back to me. I dare you to tell me they deserved that win. It’s time we stop pretending and start calling things out for what they really are. This whole competition was a mess from start to finish, and anyone who’s being honest knows it. Stop sugarcoating it. Stop playing favorites. Recognize real talent, or don’t bother holding a competition at all. Bullshit. Also it’s telling that TAFMA had to delete the live broadcast clearly, they couldn’t handle the embarrassment. Imagine this India’s so called "biggest band battle" being paired with the absolute worst live broadcast sound quality. It’s almost laughable. We’re talking about a music competition, and yet, the audio sounded like it was being broadcast from a tin can. Even recordings made on someone’s phone would have been a massive improvement. The fact that this is supposed to be a prestigious event makes it all the more ridiculous. How can you claim to be hosting a major battle of the bands and not even manage the basics of sound engineering? This is the kind of event where sound quality is everything, and they couldn’t even get that right. It’s not just a technical failure it’s a slap in the face to the performers and the audience alike. Deleting the broadcast doesn’t erase the fact that everyone already saw (or rather, heard) the disaster unfold. You can try to cover it up, but the damage is done. It’s embarrassing, and TAFMA should be ashamed of themselves for allowing such an amateurish mistake in an event of this scale. If they want to be taken seriously, they need to step up their game instead of hiding their failures.

Fifth note won simply because of tribalism...hate to say it but it is what it is! 3 out of the 5 members are Tenyimis,the same community as Tafma's chairperson,Abu Metha and the Chief minister! Heck...didn't anyone notice the volunteers on the stage?All Angami artists! Are Angamis the only musicians in Nagaland that only these people had manage the event???Or was this battle of the bands event a Sekrenyi festival? It'S DISGUSTING!

Hornbill needs a better judge.... If u can scream or hit a high note at any given chord u are selected for hornbill or u can also win... Its that easy... This oldies judges needs replacement... Judge mistake.... 1. Individual prize best vocals and drummer will be in Fifth note and The Prophets. 2. Winner should be in The Prophets and 1st runner up will be fifth note. But the judge umm... Asif they don't anything or maybe through political pressure they give fifth note winner. Anyway congrats to all the winner's... But please don't give someone discourage...
