Excellent and easy to understand information on ticks…it’s a blessing to find your channel…thank you for your content 👍👍👍…one way I was taught to remove an embedded tick was to cover it with a big glob of Vaseline petroleum jelly to prevent it from breathing and it would eventually extract itself…this was the same way to remove a “wolf” (larvae of the blue bottle fly living under the skin of its host, usually a dog or cat) when it would eventually extend itself from it’s tunnel in the host to breathe, then catch it with tweezers and drag it out (pretty much a gross “how can something that large and horrible live under the skin of my pet”…squirrel hunters here in the south know about these larvae)…I’ve also used this method on ticks with good success…it might take a few minutes for the tick or “wolf” to panic by not being able to breath and release itself for removal…I wonder if y’all in Michigan have ever tried this? Again, thank you for your channel and take care 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

Late response, however, it is not advisable to remove any tick by means of suffocation whether it be petroleum jelly, dish soap.. This causes the tick to regurgitate prematurely. Go with the tweezers and avoid squeezing the body of the tick!!
