I've had mine now for almost two weeks now and it's been a solid experience. The second ULP display is great and really does add to the longevity of the watch. When I wear it I lose around 12-14% every 10 hours or so without any fitness tracking

They've been promising Wear OS 3 for the Pro 3 and E3 line-up for over 2 years now. Latest announcement was that release would be "starting Q3 2023". But they said the same in 2022. And there's not much left of Q3 2023, so they will be missing maybe they're 6th announced release date (if they ever do release). On the plus side they've said the update will re-enable the compass they disabled.

@@philkingston7679 No they havent actually. Wear OS 3 was never going to the TWP 3 models. That's not MOBVOI's fault. Samsung had control over which devices got Wear OS 3, they being a bigger ($$$$$) company. TWP 3 is more than capable of handling Wear OS 3.5 but .... it's that battle going on in the background. Samsung watches now have Wear OS 4. Yeh, whats up with that!! Again, that's because they have control. Whilst TWP 5 is only getting Wear OS 3.5. Unfair. It is still possible that Wear OS 3 (not 3.5 or 4.0) will come to TWP 3 watches but only after everyone else has fully moved on to OS 4.0. My guess is that these watches will be left behind again. But we'll just have to wait and see.

TWP 5 gets all the latest Mobvoi updates. It also gets Wear OS 3.5, the maximum at this stage, even though Wear OS 4 is available. But that is Samsungs control. TWP 3 still works well on Wear OS 2. I've not had any issues with it.

This is my 3rd TicWatch Pro. The 5 is the best of the bunch. I absolutely love it and my go to watch. Holy recommend. Great video!

Awesome as always Josh! Mobvoi definitely does several things right. They are capable of putting together a compelling product. But for some strange reason seem to come up a little short. I think an LTE version, Google assistant and consistent updates makes that much of a difference.

The TicWath Pro 5 is definitely one of the fastest smartwatches I've ever owned. I've never had a WearOS watch just fly through the OS like this. My Apple Watch Series 8 definitely feels faster, but when I go back to Android (I switch often) I always chose the TicWatch Pro 5 to wear with it. Solid solid watch. Miss Google Assistant, which as you mentioned Joshua, was removed by Google from pretty much all smart watches save Galaxy and Pixel watches. Hoping that comes back soon.

I'm still using my OPPO watch 46mm, as I really like the design of it. There aren't any other square wear os watches available. The only thing that sucks is that Wear OS 3 won't be coming to it as it has a really powerful CPU, which surely could handle that. But well. I'd've definitely gone for Tic Pro 5 had it had a rotating bezel tho. Great content though.

this is why i love garmin or Hwawei, the battery life of apple watch last you 3 days (like who buys this???), garmin and huawei last 7 days more, and take only less than 1 hour of charging.

Had the Pro 3 for two years and when the battery failed they decided to "upgrade me" to the Pro 3. Now I can't find where to change colors in the essentials app, got any ideas?

My TicWatch Pro 3 GPS is coming up on two years old now but still chugging along. I have to admit that I'm seriously considering upgrading to this version given how well my present TicWatch has served me, but with the Pixel Warch 2 coming out in less rhan a month I'm holding out to see how it compares. I think once all is said and done I'll stick with Mobvoi on the basis of battery life. I've done the charging every day with my Moto 360 and Fossil Sport and it is so much easier to live with a watch you can go for a couple of days without thinking of charging.

I was also hesitant about switching due to battery life when my pro 3 gps lost Google Assistant support but I ended up with a galaxy watch 5 pro for around $200 and I'm very happy. Has a 3 day battery just like my pro 3 so just FYI there's options.

I like mobvoi watches, bought a broken pro 3 and "restored it" to a "functionnal state" What no one mentions is the 4 pin usb at the bottom, this means you could root this watch (like previous models) which is hilarious So the cable isn't that proprietary, it's just the standard 5V, GND for charging, with unused Data+ and Data- unless you make or buy a custom cable. The only thing that could be different from regular usb in the order in which those pins are arranged

Hey Joshua, did you not have any issues pairing the watch at all? I bought this watch for my dad and so far, it's been nonstop of issues and I don't know if it's because of the phone (I believe it's a Redmi 10) or some missing update or whatever, but it's definitely not been as seemless as I thought it would be.

I just picked it up on a lightning deal. I'm Not a smartwatch person as they seem a little gimmicky but it was only $227 so why not. I don't care about the fitness stuff which is what these seem to be all about. Anyway the app keeps stopping which is very annoying. Makes me feel like there is more glitchy things to come. I'm already very close to returning it but will give it a couple more weeks. Definitely not blowing my skirt up.

Tempted by this but i never quite got into the smartwatch world yet. I like to switch out my watch a couple times a week so i never get consistent metrics 🤷‍♂️ Maybe this will be the 1 to get me hooked on smartwatch tech

Yeah the biggest liability I have for smart watches on Android at least is that you can't connect them to more than one phone without having to do a factory reset. Right now my watch is set to my pixel but sometimes I still like to use my LG wing or V60 and I can't switch without having to start everything over from scratch

I hadnt worn watches for well over a decade, maybe longer. I too didnt see the point or need for one. It was only when my bank discontinued its wearable pay ring that I needed another wearable pay device. The one thing that a smart watch has over a pay ring is that you can add all your store cards/reward cards to your watch, which is fantastic. You can pay with and access your cards via one device.

I am hoping that the tic watch offers BIA sensors in the future to measure a trend on body compositions if somebody has no time to weigh themselves. I love the watch, but I get the feeling from the reddit's channel that they really don't care about utilizing the watch's specs or upgrading them via software long enough to make it worth buying. Let's say they had a team like DreamWorks who had a "gulag" for dealing with previous tic watch watch versions and they actually succeeded in squeezing more out of it, it would be the "Shrek moment" of their time.

Ticwatch is really the only watch on the operating system that I would consider because of its battery. But I just don't understand what happened with Google assistant, my guess is the support support for it has been fleeting on where 3.0 for the Qualcomm chipsets but pixel is moving over to qualcomm for next watch. When wear 3 was introduced, anything with the Qualcomm 4100 chipset would lose assistant once It upgraded. Maybe they just got tired of Google's fleeting support and made a deal for support from Amazon assistant but ultimately that's a pretty big bummer. I just can't go with Samsung or Google because you're talking about having to charge your phone every day maybe two. It's a shame they couldn't license this dual screen technology for every watch on the platform

Galaxy watch 5 pro has 3 day battery for me and can be found for pretty cheap. Thankfully ticwatch is no longer the only Android Wear company that prioritizes battery anymore. And I have Google Assistant back finally!

this watch looks good but I am concerned how big the watch is. Do you have small wrists? My current non smart watch face is 57mm diameter. I need a large watch for my large wrists. Great video btw.

The watch is kinda like the Galaxy Watch6 Classic but, maybe it's just me, the black one feels much smaller. So if you're able to see the Galaxy watch in person, you can decide.

I like the concept of having 2 type of display. But I think in doing so the watch looks thick and probably little heavy. Maybe if there's smaller or square screen I would probably consider. And actually I hope Samsung could consider the Low power display, unless they able to make Amoled more efficient and able to rival its power consumption. Great video as always Joshua, cheers!

Both! I'm buying both. I've had the TWP 3 GPS in black. It looks okay. It's standard, every day. But Sandstone is much classier. Black for sports, Sandstone for work/dinner/functions.

I was the same. Never wore a watch let alone a smart watch. It all seemed gimicky to me. However, as soon as I realised it could store all of my store cards/reward cards as well as pay for things I was like "I'm having that!!" They would have to be the most pratical features of the smartwatch. Making life easier, saving you from having to pull out store cards or keeping them in a wallet or in your phone case. I ditched my wallet. I just use my watch to pay for things now. But I do keep my credit card on my at all times as some retailers have dodgy POS devices which dont like Google Pay (used on Android based smart watches). Another usefuly feature, for me anyway, is when I have a postal delivery coming that day, my local postal service prompts me (buzzes, alerts) on my watch. Plus if I'm not at home and the parcel has been left at my door, they will send a photo of it so I know it was left there. I can see that photo on the watch. So cool!! It's the convenience factors that are really good about smart watches. All the fitness and health tracking stuff isnt for everyone, but the convenience features do make it worth while having a smart watch.

Don’t buy it. I have the Ticwatch pro 3 pro. They promised updates but the last security update is back to 2021. No support. Nothing. It’s a pity.. so beautiful watch with no support no updates. Never again

The main problem is actually that Samsung have control on Wear OS updates. They are the bigger player with bigger $$$$. Mobvoi are at their mercy.
