Am I understanding this correctly? The main Amoled display is only visible with Always On mode, which drains the battery like crazy), or once the watch is touched? A simple wrist flick only activates backlight on the secondary display? If that's the case, what's the point of fancy watch faces?

It won't make any difference if you got it The OS3 it has now gives you Google maps you can type from the watch it shows you businesses when they are open full voice navigation from your watch I don't think there's any other watch that does that 🤔 All you need to do is to go into settings to stop it mirroring to your phone and to stop your phone mirroring Google maps to your watch Then you have independent Google maps with offline maps

Bought one with their Black Friday deal, a steal at 40% off, should be arriving today :) I already have an Amazfit Balance, which is also a great watch, but wanted the Ticwatch for the 32 GB storage to put music on it to listen to while working, so I don't need to carry my phone around. The tough build will also hopefully help here, the last (cheap) smartwatch I used for work ended up with a few annoying scratches. Not too sure about the sandstone colour though, but I'll see when it arrives. Probably would have preferred a silver option. I believe Google Assistant is supposed to be added at some point, it's just Google and Samsung have temporarily made is an exclusive for their new watches. There is a way to sideload it, but then it doesn't have full functionality.

Believe it or not you can add Google assistant back into the pro 5. I learned how to do it from a KZbin video. It's not perfect but it works for what I use it for which is turning things on and off in the house.

Can you pair it with a Bluetooth in-ears and use it for jogging without your phone by downloading music with Spotify? The Gen. 3 could do this, but the connection with your in-ears was terrible.

I'm using Pixel buds pro and they seem to work well. I thought it was a pain to switch from phone media to watch media when I was using Samsung headphones. But the pixel buds pro have multi point technology which makes switching from phone media to watch media easier. I have a pixel 8 pro phone.

Hey there, I just got my TicWatch Pro 5 Enduro, and my ULP screens backlight is always super dim, looks. Nothing like yours did in the outdoor footage. I cant even tell the backlight is on outside, even in the shade. Indoors it is also very dim. Ive looked at all the settings and cant find any way to brighten it. Is mine faulty?

If you don’t want a cellular version or a smaller size then TicWatch is great, 3 day battery life, dual displays, latest Wear OS, fast chip. I don’t know too much about the Samsung so you can look yourself.

I'd strongly recommend Samsung if you always want to be on updates. Otherwise, you will stuck with ticwatch.

To bad Samsung watches don't fully work on non Samsung phones. So if you don't have a Samsung it sounds like a better watch than a half working Samsung watch. Same problem with Apple, to much vendor lock in. I'll always go with the open version.

For the last 2 years, there has been no update for the 3rd series. 2 years of waiting for OS3. This is when Samsung has OS 4. @@luke3892

@@MichaelElsegood i did some further reading and a it seems that Mobvoi have not provided software updates or support for their previous watches. So people ain't happy

Probably because Mobvoi has a history of not updating the software on their watches. Ticwatch Pro 3 and Pro 3 Ultra were promised Wear OS 3 but have been stuck on Wear OS 2 for more than a year longer than other manufacturers watches. This really annoys people. Also features that came with these watches (Google Assistant, Compass) were removed over time and people hated losing features that they used to have. While there didn't seem to be a way to get the compass back you can side load Google Assistant if you really want it.

Yeah sorry no Google assistant...this watch never happened IMO...it's a paper weight...and would be a complete waste of money for any sucker buying it. Mobvoi needs to hang it up and bow down to Samsung and Apple and pack it in

You know absolutely nothing 😂 I have the latest pixel watch and it's rubbish and I have the pixel 2 I actually purchased them for my daughter The ticwatch Pro 3 is better than both of them The £800 Apple watch health metrics are no better than the pro 5 enduro Tick watch has independent Google maps with offline maps voice navigation it's even shows when businesses are open and closed shows you how to get to somewhere with public transport straight from Google maps just like a phone Everything Apple is a gimmick and shit I've been there I've done it don't talk crap actually it made me laugh at you said😂
