I visited the Kaffe Fasset event in London yesterday. The quilts and fabrics were amazing. No knitting though. I would also refer others to the fruity knitting pods casts which has a few interviews with Kaffe and Brandon Mably.

That prayer book was great, especially being able to zoom in and see the thread. My high school French from over 40 years ago came in handy as I realized the page I was looking at was the Lord's Prayer, and I could read the entire thing! That was fun, thank you for the link.

I've been to the Bata Shoe Museum! When I was single I traveled to Toronto with my family and on a whim I dragged my family there. I highly recommend going there, even if there are no special exhibits or lectures going on.

So exciting that you are in Lisbon! I was enchanted with it when I visited in the late 1980s and I had no idea how much I would enjoy that visit - I am hoping you are finding the same and are enjoying the myriad of wonderful walks in and around town.

My goodness you are so funny, in a really nice way. What a beautiful surprise to see your face on the screen when you are meant to be away having a break. What a wonderful generous husband you have allowing time for a Podcast. It was really interesting and a very full podcast. Thank you for your Podcast and I hope you enjoy the remainder of your time in Lisbon. Take care both of you. I will see you when I am looking at you.

The woven prayer book is fascinating! I recognized the Litany of Loreto immediately, but to think that it is all woven! Incredible.

The Bata Shoe Museum (we always pronounced the old shoe store in Canada Baa Ta, like the sound a sheep makes and the informal goodbye) is a really cool place. It's been over 20 years since I've been there, and now I wish I had the chance to go back. Enjoy your trip

On the shaker hat: was the button hole loop a double duty feature, to hold the button or to hook on the man's belt so he didn't lose the hat while carrying it?

I was only ever in Lisbon for a weekend in the early 90s. Even tho it was Easter Weekend and much was closed, i loved it. The tile on the buildings and in every entryway were so inspiring. Even though i was there for 'work' ( i was doing live performance a cappella vocals for choreographer Dennis OConnor's dance opera Amor Omnia), it felt like a wonderful vacation. I hope you are having as lovely a time.

I twisted my Counting Sheep blanket and am in shock! In other words, there was a border knitted separately that got twisted after I finished the bottom and sides and started the top. Help! I am supposed to sew this around the middle rectangle but it is twisted! I don't want to ravel! Do I cut somewhere? I'm not doing all those sheep, moons and stars over! Do I cut it? I found some instructions on doing that. I also need to do a vertical cut in a 5-row garter stitch that is part of the twist. It's a border of the sheep border if that makes sense.

I wish you a great trip in Portugal. Are you visiting yarn producers or shops ? I always pack my knitting first when I travel, even for a weekend in the country. 😉Where would you get racoon and silk fiber today ???

Raccoon are probably not like sheep which are sheared for their fleece. Do you know, Roxanne, if raccoon fur is harvested like say a mink would be?

When I run across an image I want more information on, I start with using tineye. Sometimes I hit paydirt. I Like it better than Google Image because I found that G-image uses the text tags embedded in the image whereas tineye actually looks at the image.
