This is our last video of 2023, it was a heavy but fascinating place to visit and honestly we felt very safe there (even when we lost everyone😅) We hope you enjoyed the video, let us know your thoughts about it below, would you visit comuna 13 and Pablo Escobars house? Thanks for watching and Happy New Year all!

We loved Comuna 13, by accident we booked an AirBnB about 50 yards from the entrance and were in the area for 4 days. We’re 5 weeks in now and Medellin has been my joint favourite place (along with Quito), now in Lima for new year. Thanks for your videos you two, look forward to catching up in 2024 👍

We also loved Medellin, the climate, coffee and colour made us so happy. Enjoy Lima and Happy New Year!

I really enjoyed seeing your time in the city and was happy to hear you felt safe. The history of what the country and the people had to experience to get here is so sad 😢

Thank you, it is crazy what went on in Medellin, thankful that it finally ended.

The canella at the end looks like a delicious marshmallow-y treat! I would definitely give it a try. Great to see around the city and hear your own experiences with the tour.

It was really good, still not sure what it’s made of but it tasted great!

I lived in Medellin for over a year - first 'round' in 2011 - but haven't been back since like 2018. Great to see how it's looking now, waaay more tourists than when I last visited comuna 13 😅 Awesome video!

Wow, bet it's changed so much since then! It's good that there's more tourists I guess for income for locals. Thank you for the comment! 👍

Ok ...good video ... 90 % of the information vis accurate....however ... The MEDELLIN metropolis metro electric escalators...were build as a means of metro transportation for the use of the poor local residents ...build .. specifically..for older woman and for pregnant woman to transport themselves ..the steep hills of the comuna 13 .... Absolutely not ... The metro electric escalators were not built for the use of the tourists at all.... Please make a note ..... These metro escalators were build for the local residents ... specifically..pregnant woman and older people tu be used as public transportation .... Today everyone..enjoys the transportation of the metro electric Escalators... Including the tourists from all over the world... MEDELLIN Metropolis ..is characterized for having the best integrated metro system in the world declared by Wall Street journal and by Citi group and New York Times..from the USA ... Excellent video ... I did enjoyed it ......

Thank you for your comment and info ☺️ the escalators are a great idea for public transport, so convenient and quick for everyone.

It’s a well-integrated system but it lacks capacity. Unfortunately, the new ‘metro’ line that will be built will be a tramway instead of a real metro.

We avidly watch your videos and love all your tips. However, I am sad too see your heading for this video as Medellin doesn’t even make the world’s top 25 most dangerous cities. It was at one time but hadn’t been for quite sometime. The residents of Communa 13, Medellin and the government have all worked very hard to shake that title and image.

That is exactly what we show in the video ☺️

i like how travelers trying to name comuna 13 (tourist side) the most dangerous place in medellin or in colombia, which is obviously not. Try going up North to Comuna , and still it wont be the most dangerous hood at this stage. there is places like Manrique , like La Paz and other different barrios on the outskirts of Medellin, which are really dangerous .

That’s what we show in the video. How it’s changed 👍🏼

@@TideKnotTravellers clickbait’s in 2024 . And yes, Touristy side of Comuna 13 is not Comuna 13 :)

Please avoid making titles like this, medellin being one of the most dangerous cities is a thing in the past. Theyve worked hard to move past their history. What you're doing is further stigmatizing us.

I'm colombian and i don´t like the way the comuna 13 became a tourist attraction for the wrong reason, imaging going to the concentration camp in auschwitz in poland and find people dancing outside, selling souvenirs and ice cream...enough with the stupid stereotypes and clickbaits

As long you as you cannot give ‘papaya’ it’s a dangerous city. Not the world’s most dangerous city but still among the more dangerous ones. In Amsterdam or Moscow, you can walk in expensive designer clothes and with an iPhone Pro MAX in your hand and you won’t be mugged at gunpoint . That’s absolutely not the case in Medellin.

@@2011andresme I actually don’t get it either why people want to visit a poor comuna as a tourist. In Brazil it’s the same. They all want to visit what they call a “favela”.
