Hi sir, If the Tidal duration is less than 5 hrs or more than 7 hrs and the port mentioned is in 1992 Tide table vol 1 can we do it in normal way or SHM is recommended. In other words , SHM method is it only applicable for 1992 Tide Table Vol 2 and Vol 3 ?

DOT is not the criteria for Vol 1. In Vol 1, the requirement of SHM is indicated, usually by 'p' or 'c' notation.
