TIDES and WIND just RIGHT to KAYAK to RANGITOTO

Join us as we kayak from Takapuna Beach to Rangitoto Island with our mates Richard and Rose. We will explain the basic information you need to safely paddle there and back and experience this amazing adventure.
Rangitoto is a volcanic island just outside of Auckland Harbour. It is about 5.5km wide and about 250 meters high. Rangitoto is the youngest and biggest of the volcanos in the Auckland volcanic field. It was formed by 2 separate eruptions approximately 500 to 600 years ago. There are hiking trails around the island and the view from the top can be spectacular.
24th September 2024: The day was partly cloudy with almost no wind. Low tide was at about 1pm and we started paddling from Takapuna at 12pm and left Rangitoto at 2pm.
