I don’t understand why the Hornets didn’t trade down with Memphis. Portland was gonna take a center and San Antonio took Rob, so why didn’t Hornets trade down and get an extra pick? I think the kid will be good, but I’m puzzled.

unfortunately almost every player in this draft class is a project player, but id rather have the 18 year old project than a 20 something year old project. he would still be younger than Knecht by the time they say he will be fully ready

Calm yourself a bit. He's been playing a few years in a professional league at a very young age and he has some traits that will translate immediately -- the ability to get up and down the court with Lamelo or Brandon in transition, the length that will allow him to defend 3's and 4's -- and if he's open he won't be afraid to shoot it. His playmaking and feel for the NBA game will come gradually. But if he's a gym rat with a Giannis build, you have to bank on him turning out to be AT BARE MINIMUM another PJ Washington or Dorian Finney-Smith. And I would also bet on him starting some games by the end of his rookie season.

@@DrizzleSports They do know how bad his injury is. He's ok. Holland was off the board and Knecht fell all the way to 17. Clingan would have been the best choice if it was a trade down situation only. Given that San Antonio was probably going to take a swing on someone since they already locked down a point guard with Castle and Portland would have had to take on more money at 6 (who knows what either team might have offered by the way), you can see why Charlotte opted to secure their favorite guy. Jeff Peterson went to see this kid 3 times. Steve Clifford (our new scout) loves him. Charles Lee will get the best of him. And you won't see him in the news for something stupid because he'll be too busy in the gym listening to "Eye of the Tiger'
