Tina, I am so proud of you, that looks amazing, remember for your desk why not grab a small box that maybe reams of paper came in and start placing the stuff from your desk into then you can take the box down to the tv room and start going through it while you watch tv. remember it took a while to get into the stage that its in so dont expect to finish it in one go, again i am proud of you well done.

Hi Tina!🤗🌻❤️ You are giving me a lot of ideas and inspiration for our spare bedroom, which I want to make part of it into a craft space. Lots of nooks and crannies to clean up and go through. Don’t be so hard on yourself...we won’t judge!👍🏻 There are only a small percentage of people in this world that don’t have one or two drawers, boxes, closets, etc. that need rummaging through, cleaning and vacuuming.👀👀👀But... you are making excellent progress and clearing up and cleaning space!🤗 Great job, and thank you for sharing the teachable moments that the majority of us need to be reminded of.💖You are a very creative beautiful soul, and never forget what wonderful contributions you bring to this world. You are a lovely lady, Tina💖Thank you for sharing your time and talents with us!🤗🌻❤️

I wish you weren’t so embarrassed. What I see is the results of someone who is very creative and always making beautiful things. If things need to get put under the desk to make room for a new project, who cares? If things fall under there it’s okay. Once these piles start they have a way of growing bigger and bigger. We’ve all been there. It’s the hazards of creativity. Please don’t be so hard on yourself. You sharing this helps all of us (in the same place) to realize we are not the only ones. I admire your courage to show us. You will get this project done and then you will love your space. Thanks for taking us along on your journey. Hang in there.

Hi Tina, You made my day with this video. Having a creative daughter, her room looked exactly like this. I attibute her room to her creative mind. Research does show that creative people need to be able to create, regardless of the mess that sometimes get left behind. What treasures you found are great...and you made me want to dig into areas of my house to find some of my "lost treasures". Thanks for being real...being true to your creative process....and sharing all of YOU with all of us. Thanks so much!!!!

@diamondstud3224 жыл бұрын
Good for you getting into this, every crafter I know has some level of this problem, and it’s so much easier to put off dealing with it. One thing you might try with your tidy Friday’s is before you start with sorting, grab a few baskets, bins, and/or boxes. As you are sorting you can quickly put like things together, one for things to donate, several for things to put away, one for things you need to find a home for, etc. plus a trash bin. I think it just helps for quick sorting and is a little easier to deal with than piles. Once you have your items sorted into boxes or baskets, if you have a place for them, you can put them away, or you can keep them there for your next Friday, and keep adding to them. In some of the organization programs I’ve seen, they try to touch each item as little as possible. They basically sort and box up like they are moving, and clear the space totally. Once everything is sorted, you can see what all goes together and you can see how much room you need, and have clear shelves or drawers ready to store them. Obviously, this wouldn’t be possible for you, but you wouldn’t need to do it with the things you use most and areas you’ve already sorted out. You might try it with the things you don’t need often. That way you could clear out your shelves instead of putting things back there that you already know you’ll have to sort out again later. Anyway, I’m impressed with your progress, and am in total sympathy with your situation, been there, done that. The only reason my stuff doesn’t look like that right now is that I moved houses, and I haven’t set up a craft area yet lol.
@shabbydabbydoodah4 жыл бұрын
Lol, I love your honesty about why your stuff isn't looking like mine right now!!! Having said that, you sound super organised with some fab tips for clearing, so I am thinking your stuff is kept in a reasonable state normally........?? x

I have been organizing and straightening up everything I touch, I am even adding labels so I know what is in each container and box etc… I have been working on two rooms at the same time, my big sewing room and my paper crafting room but they are both getting more organized by the day. Oh Tina, don’t worry I’ve seen a lot of crafters who have that same problem. When you get organized you won’t have it that bad. I always clean after every project. Yes it gets messy again but at lease I don’t have as much to put away. The things I use a lot like glues are in a three tiered lazy Susan and my scissors and bone folders and little tools are in a lazy susan that I got from the craft store with little areas for different things. They are all close enough for me to reach to. All my scraps are in magazine holders easy to get to and I have clear containers from the Dollar Tree store that I have labeled Tim Holtz people, envelopes , pockets, ladies, tags, small ephemera, flowers, birds and butterflies, etc. so easy to see which box I need to pull out. And I do a lot of fussy cutting too. Just remember if you haven’t used it in 6 months or it doesn’t give you joy give it to the school. You will feel so much better with less clutter. I do. I enjoy watching and seeing your progress. Put the video on fast mode and we can watch while your working. I just wish we could work that fast in real life. Haha😆🤣

I loved this Tidy Friday...I feel for you, if I could be there to help I certainly would. As I said before, I have to keep my room organized and cleaned up, it is my bedroom too! It is not a very big room but I have managed to keep things pretty much under control. I had until I started crocheting again..lol..It is still put away but definitely not much room to move around! I cannot wait to see you craft room when you finish it. I am loving these videos, as others have said it is relaxing to see and fun to see all your goodies! It is also fun to see you struggling to part with stuff. I am the same way... I did clear out my crafting area at one point when I didn't think I could see well enough to do it (and I still had quite a bit that I kept) but I am collecting again, lol... I donated a lot to my grandkids school. So much that they had to bring a cart out to take it in! It was so much that it kept fall off the cart. I never realized I had so much.. lol Take care and see you again tomorrow... :)

Hi Tina, your video showed up last night and I was getting ready for bed. I wanted to watch it so badly. But I waited till this morning to enjoy it while drinking my morning tea. How awesome! You’re really moving along. At least you are throwing stuff away and donating things. I clean up and have almost no trash. I keep everything. 😂. You said that you will loose subscribers. I don’t think so. You are so up front and show your space so freely that I think you’ll acquire more subscribers. You keep saying that you’re so embarrassed, but you keep on going. I admire that about you. Plus, you should not be embarrassed. Thing get that way because you are creating and sharing your talent with all of us. And your Autumn journal cover...when you stamped on the front and it didn’t print completely, you just kept going and it turned out great. You never let anything discourage you. I would have been like, oh no it didn’t stamp well, now what do I do and be all frustrated. Not you, and I’m trying to be more like that and just embrace whatever happens and not be such a perfectionist, which is my nature. So, thank you for that. It’ll be so satisfying when you are finished. I can’t wait to see the tour of your craft area when you’re finished. Oh and by the way your skirt would make a lovely fabric journal cover 😂🤣. Hugs 🤗

Hi Tina, one of the purchases I made through Amazon for paper and stencil storage were the Iris 6-drawer scrapbook carts. I didn't put the wheels on the bottom. I stacked them 2 high and 3 across, then placed a shelf board across the top. The drawers are fabulously roomy and work fantastic for all sizes of papers as well as stencil storage. I still need to label the drawers. The shelf board across the top gave me a perfect area for placing completed journals and pretty little things. Love how your organizing is going. Mine is coming along as well. Don't feel embarrassed; many of us are in the exact same place. Under my desk are three square 12x12 paper storage cubes from Michaels craft store with even more scarpbook papers.

I love to see how people organize their stuff as you never know when you will see something that will help get organized. glad to hear you are happy with the progress you are making, it is a large undertaking for sure. You might need help with all the fussy cutting :)

Thank you so much Caroline, yes it really is a massive task, but I am excited now as under the desk was a HUGE mess that I had been putting off forever! Yes I just keep accumulating more fussy cutting, I will never get on top of that now! Lol x

Well done you! There is no need to be embarrassed as my crafting things as well as everything else needs a good sort out and I felt embarrassed by it too, but at the same time when we are busy, it always seems to take second place. However, when I do manage to sort something out I do feel better for it and feel like I'm getting somewhere with it all. Keep up the good work, you're doing really well especially in getting rid of things and donating things to the school. I must admit I'm a craft hoarder and have loads of things that I've had ideas for sitting around waiting for me to do something with.

Darling Tina, the only difference between your room and mine is that you have shown yours to all of us! Except maybe mine has a few bits of cat hair mixed in. 🤣. Thank you for sharing this with us. I loved hearing the excitement and pure pleasure in your voice at the end of the video! Congratulations on how much you have accomplished! Hugs and blessings, 🤗❤️🇨🇦

Really proud of you 👏. I've got a few piles to clear out, so I can get a table put in my room ,so I 'll have a place to craft. Been buying things to start junk journals now you have inspired me.

I use the books with the clear page protectors for digitals so that I can quickly look through what I have and it protects them so I don't have to worry about them getting damaged. You have made a lot of progress 👏😁🇨🇦

That’s a great idea, I had started doing that about a year ago, but it just got too full too quickly and the system went out the window. I might resurrect that system again once I am a bit more organised x

So happy for you that you’re making such progress! Now I need to get cracking on and tackle my own mess....but it’s so daunting and my storage is limited. I’m the kind of person, too, that if I don’t see it I forget about it.

So far I've seen two craft rooms witn an abundance of stuff and my children say I have too much stuff. What did help me alot was two file cabinets. I keep my books in . I use to file my papers into colors or prints.ive just started journal making 6 months ago.

Not to worry! If we all could send you pictures of OUR spaces, you wouldn't feel alone in your task. I organized my yarn yesterday (I finished the little sweater/hoodie I was making), but I really need to reorganize my journaling supplies since finishing my sister's journal. (A huge task I've been putting off!) >Sigh< It truly never ends, LOL. Keep inspiring us. We love you! :-)
