I go to scrapbook retreats 5-6 times a year. We have what we call Trash to Treasure boxes. Anything you don't want or need goes into them. Then anyone attending can rummage and take what they want. ❤

I gathered up lots of scrapbook and card making supplies and had a craft sale a few years ago. I invited all my friends who craft and told them to spread the word. I made about $300 and bought a Brother Scan n Cut, which was my goal. It felt so good to let go.

Thank you for sharing your great ideas. My problem is I have been working for the past 33 years and scrapping and collecting for the past 30 years with the promise to myself that when I retire, I was going to do all the scrapping I ever wanted to do. I have collected so much I can barely move around my room. I finally retired this January and I need to organize but I just want to scrap 😮.

I hear you! That's the same thing that I did. I also sold CM for 9 years and Stampin'Up for 9 years. I now have so much stuff and it's now unorganized. I gave a lot of things to my granddaughters school and plan to give them more as I purge.

I love those little plastic folders. I ordered them from your link on Amazon and then realized that I needed MORE! I ordered again. I moved my 8.5 x 11 file folder storage of scraps off my desk and replaced it with the "scrapbox." For many of the scraps that I had, I took the time to punch them into tags before moving them to the plastic color folders. And I purged pieces that I knew I would never use. So far I am using my scraps more and loving this new system.

After watch this video, I made a called to a local Nursing Home and talked with the activity coordinator and she is more than happy to take my unused scrapbook paper and some of my bigger paper scraps and embellishments. They have a die cutting machine to cut out dies to make all sorts of things for their craft projects! Thanks for all of these great ideas for purging!

. As always Lauren, I love your suggestions. I found that as I was organizing, like putting my stickers and embellishments in the sort pages in the binders, I was able to destash so much. The biggest question was " does this still fit my style" " will I use it". I also go to crops that set up a free table, that I donate to and many times found just the right little thing I needed. What might be someone else's destash, is someone elses treasure. Thanks for sharing your thoughts experience and kindness with all of us!

I punch shapes out of my small scraps, save them in a clear envelope & store in 1 of the small pockets on the front of the Power Project Folder for that color- then I'm actually ahead of the game when scrapbooking & looking to add shapes of cardstock; I save mat sized pieces in the other small front pocket; I go through my stash every few months to keep things manageable

Thank you for using the word destash, I like that much better. Thanks for sharing your process! The Marie Kondo question does it bring you joy doesn't really help me when it comes to scrapbook supplies. Yes, it all brings me joy! For me, is it something you would be excited to use is a better question to ask.

Watching the replay...thank you for always sharing your ideas and organization tips! I'm currently in the process of unpacking 20+ large tubs of scrapbooking stuff! I'm a former consultant and I'm truly overwhelmed by how much stuff I still have. It was all packed up 11 years ago when I had to move out of my home, and I'm just now trying to get back into it. Everything I come across I fall in love with and don't want to let go of. But realistically, how many packages of short cuts will I really use? 😂 I have joined several buy/sell/ISO groups specifically for CM products and plan to offer them, and many more items, soon. I've finished unpacking it all, now I'm in the need to organize it stage. My best find: several power layouts boxes that are ready to go! 😊

I just thought of something I may try: Put a date on a punch and give yourself a time limit. If I haven't used it at all during that time, give it away. It can be anything you're not sure of.

I had someone at work that I knew had little kids. I gave them 7 large bins of 15 year old paper, wood stamps, scissors, etc. I probably gave them more because I know them and I didn't mind if they wanted to sell some (I didn't).
