Tidying and pruning these messy borders in this front & rear yard

This is a garden a visit 2,or 3 times a year. This visit was to give all the borders a good tidy of the shrubs and weeding and removing all the leaves that had blown in!

Perhaps you could suggest that they let you pressure wash the fence, stones etc. it would then really look nice in the spring.
