Beautiful!! I love the outcome. I am noticing that black dye has a lot of other color in it and am tempted to just ice dye a shirt and see all the colors.

Thank you! Yes, I love the dark colors for ice dyeing. Not all the black dyes have great color splits though. I used Dark Black from Custom Colours the other day on an ice dyed shirt and I was fairly disappointed. It was just pretty much dark gray with a few hints of other colors. I put the dye over the ice and I may have added too much for the splits to show really well. It would be a great one to use if you don't want a lot of color splits though.

I like that the color splits above that orange area look a bit like tribal masks. It's always fascinating to see just what exactly comes out from each dye and tie combinations. Every single one is different.

I'm so sorry. I did this shirt awhile back and I just checked and it looks like Stock Red isn't available from Grateful Dyes any longer. I checked my color swatches and the closest color I have is Wild Cherry from Dyespin. I couldn't find Spanish Carmine from Custom Colours either.
