I have been bass fishing my whole life and just now found one of these tools. Your video on how to use this is excellent. My vision is not where it used to be but this will be a time saver rather than continuing to try to thread line through loops and continue to miss. Tks Sir!

This has been my favorite knot tying tool for over a decade. It makes perfect nail knots every time. (I do tweak the tie-fast a bit so I can lay line into it easier.)

I quite like the Fast Knot Tyer. I find it good to use when pre-tying surfcasting and flasher rigs and storing them in zip-lock plastic bags at home ready for my next fishing trip.

Yes you could, but a better option would be the FG knot as it will pass more easily through your rod's line-guides when spin fishing.

Hi Jon, it is a handy device. After a bit of practice, it is a joy to use. You do need to learn to tie fishing knots without a Tie-Fast as well though in case you lose it. On the odd occassion, I have gone fishing and accidentally left my knife at home. I hit two river stones together until one broke in half giving a very sharp cutting edge so I could cut my monofilament fishing line.

After the wraps, I prefer to leave the fly on the tool to sinch the knot tight. Also, don't forget to wet your knot.

What is the name of the knot that is formed when attached to a lure? If not using this tool would anyone tie this knot freehand when tying on a lure. I ask because I'd like to see its knot strength compared to other lure or swivel attaching knots but don't know what to look up. Thank you.

Yes, you could Peter, but I would be inclined to attach fluorocarbon to the braid, with the FG knot which passes more easily through your rod's line guides.

You can! You will do a double nail knot. Check for fly-line to leader videos using tie-fast tool... you will do what they show and then flip the lines 180⁰ and repeat the steps! I was searching for the same thing Lol!

Yes, Mike, you shore can. You must always lubricate the mono before pulling the knot up tight or heat will damage the monofilament and weaken your knot.

what the hell am i doing wrong tying tippet to leader? the line just slides through the knot. I swear im following the instructions to a T

For leader to tippet you’d need to tie the knot then turn it around in the tool and tie a 2nd knot with the line that was slipping through. I just use a surgeons knot for leader to tippet and it’s never failed me.

that's great with heavier line try attaching 6lb florocarbon to 10lb braid.....lol ...good luck with that ! I can tie Snell knots easier by hand🤣

If you can snell a hook three times faster without a Tie-Fast you must be incredibly quick. This tool might be for all those who aren't as fast as you or just prefer a different way of doing it.

I’d rather have a tool like this make a better tighter knot than loose a 2,000 dollar blue fin tuna. Cry all you want about being a Man and tying knots. End the end your just being a Arm chair bully
