Good tying and appreciate you showing the variants. When is the best time to fish these flies?. Keep it up very helpful.

Thanks for the positive comment. Ideally I'd use this fly as an alternative to the Black Holo Diawl Bach or if fishing more than one fly, I'd use this on the dropper with the Black Holo Diawl Bach either on the point or on first dropper. If you fish through the winter, it would definitely be on my cast. Ideally, and as a result of the colour combination, I'd suggest early spring into early summer and then in smaller sizes from mid September onwards. Around those times, black buzzers are a major food item on the menu. From mid September, fish it smaller than usual either tied short on a size 12 hook or on a size 14. The buzzers tend to be on the small side at this time of year. If you tie any up and decide to give them a go, let me know how you get on?

Dai, early Spring when black or darker buzzers are around and then later on from mid September when the flies start to get darker again. Bare in mind, the later in the season, the smaller the hatching flies will be so vary the size accordingly.

3 for the price of 1. It's another bargain, bargain bargain. Love all 3 but my own first choice would be fluoro orange. They all look small enough and not at all garish to put off resident fish that have been caught a few too many times. The hot orange though looks just a little different enough though to stimulate a response from fish which need sonething a little bit perky. As an afterthougt the black and blue body reminds me of the black eye I once got for taking Stephen Kay's (school bully) girlfriend to the cinema when I was 13. She said I was a better kisser than him OBVS
