Tien has become my anchor character. Anchors are supposed to annihilate when they have meter, and boy oh boy does Tien do that. Doesn't hurt that the Dodon Ray is a pretty decent, being like a Kamehame assist, kinda.

Dodon Ray is better for recombos (e.g Trunks has a corner combo involving Change The Future but can't hard knockdown with it unless you call Tien or (maybe) SSJ Vegeta so it can combo into his QCF M) especially since it's only 1 hit so it doesn't cause massive scaling, pops upwards for easy combos and the hitbox is out for quite a while, but SSJ Goku/Goku Black assist is better for neutral, pressure and covering options.

If you press the right bumper when you initiate the tri-beam before it goes off, he will summon 4 clones and fires the tri-beam from each of the, and make it into a Lv 2 super

You forgot to say that Chiaotzu suicide have an unique property from other supers. Kamikaze Chiaotzu have fixed minimum damage scaling and it will never deal less than 2160 damage no matter how long your combo is.

Blame creator Akira Toriyama when he took the Dragonball characters like Goku who were originally based on the Monkey King and the fable of; 'Journey Into The West' And turned DBZ into something far more cosmic once he introduced Goku's backstory and the Saiyans, Freeza and everything else inbetween. The human characters except Krillin all became victims of being left behind sadly! A living doll like Chaozu wasn't going to be a lethal 'Juggernaut' by any means in DBZ!

In a sense, I like that Tenshinhan is always going full out, even if it means certain death. In a world like Dragonball where death isn't quite as big of a deal, it's an interesting approach. On the other hand though, Tenshinhan is a martial artist through and through, he's someone who could be out there training and probably having adventures of his own. He should be a fairly tough customer, stronger than Krillin or Yamcha. Is that the case? Debatable.

I honestly feel like people are sleeping on him and that not only does he have great pressure with his specials (a low, a counter, an overhead and a full screen stun) he's also the best meter user period, even more so than Krillin or Adult Gohan

I just watch this and then decided to try out some of these things and I may have already forgot if you said it or not but tien's normal try beam if you hold down the button can be split into four using multiform it takes two bars of energy the same amount of health takes up more of the screen but it divides the damage by four in each clone just went through the comments and found out it's because this is older than what it was put in but just remember that

I believe you may have forgotten the variants of the regular kikoho that can be accessed by holding either either the the left bumper or trigger

I see what you mean by he's a finisher, but I have a tendency to use him as my first character since he is my No. 1 main, another thing is that during the normal Tri-Beam is that during the cinematic, you can place an input like the "O" on Playstation and the attack can change e.g. the heavy version of Tri-Beam spawns 3 other Tiens in a trapezium formation and the attack lands from both front and behind him, two tri-beams targeted at front and 2 at back.

You didn't say something very important about his Neo Tri-beam. The biggest and most important difference with the normal Tri-beam is that the Neo Tri-beam puts Tien out of the screen in a untouchable state, he is nowhere to be seen or tracked you cannot find him with super dash or touch him, and his Beam is a full screen attack that never fails and will allways connect with the proper combos or if the opponent is in a ground state receptive to Supers after a combo. Even if you vanish you cannot hit Tien during this attack.

6M can mostly only be converted with an assist. (I personally recommend Yamaha as it keeps them grounded and can be done easily midscreen) IAD 5H is also a good option, you would not need an assist to continue pressure and if you're parried/reflected you'll recover fast enough to avoid what they throw at you As far as I know you can't convert alone from a raw vanish. A decent launching assist may work. Parry on wakeup works on most unblockable setups (except left-right setups) Best to party overheads as the recovery allows you to to close in. Parry wherever you believe there's a gap. Parry beats everything except grabs. If your character has a reversal with invul you could use that too.

You can't follow up on raw vanish. If so, people would just throw meter to the wind to cross you up. It is good for getting out of the corner and going back to neutral however.

Austin Gonzales how I convert off raw vanish is (while wall bounce)dash 2M,5M jump cancel etc etc. that should get you going just make sure your mains jump cancel off of 5M

In my experience raw vanish doesn't usually wall bounce though. At least I haven't seen it do that.

There's something I'd like to try... When you lose Chiaotzu and try the telekinesis super move, his hand gesture changes and there is a green flash in front of him... Both of them remind me of the manga, where Tien reflects Yamcha's Kamehameha back at him. In the manga it's this same hand gesture (with the fingers pointing up). Maybe there's something like reflecting ki blasts or something ?

M, 2M, S, 236LLL, A1, M, 2H, L, M, 2H, JC, L, L, 2H, 236M Then you can end with a super if you want If you don't know what this means, look up fighting game notations. If you sparking blast before this combo, time the Volleyball hits right, time the assist right, and use his level 3 with 7 bars at the end, you deal over 10k damage (more than a full health bar)

I like Tien in this game, but in my opinion the Telekinesis move takes too long to come out. By the time Chiaotzu has frozen the enemy, they've already raised their guard, or they reflected it, or he just freezes them too late. Any tips?

After the light Crane Strike you can go straight into a medium Crane strike then into a level one super.

I've been watching these videos for a couple days now and I haven't subscribed and I'm really sorry I haven't these videos have been really really great my only gripe is that I feel like every character feels very usable to me but that might just be the nature of the game it's hard to make a team and I think that's the point but surely every character cannot be good right? Or at least less practical than another they feel kind of situational and it's hard to get a baseline until you see who you're fighting online or otherwise.
