I always like the shot of Piccolo watching from the roof. The last time we saw him he was laughing and dismissing the idea of even watching Goku and Tien fight thinking they are so weak that it wouldn't even be worth watching, then the next time we see him he is staring intently and has an INTENSE frown, like "oh shit, they ARE actually really good...."

Actually Kami was pretty obvious to me. I remember in the previous episode I think, Piccolo mentioned how Hiro fought in a manner similar to his. That was pretty much a major hint to Hiro being Kami

Actually, it was Goku vs. Chichi when he used that move to knock her out of the ring. That move was obviously taught to Goku by Kami, a move that Piccolo immediately recognized.

Man... it just feels so good to rewatch this stuff again. Both of the fights were really intense and fun to watch. While Yamcha still lost in the end, he did held his own reasonably very well. Caught Kami off guard a few times and was even able to hit him at least once. My favorite part was 13:09-13:33. You can see Tien struggling a bit with Goku, who seemed to not even taking a sweat but both are still equal in the moment. They haven't even mangled to hit each other yet.

"kami" means "god" in japanese. last video you said somith along "this guy must be a god.../ is on godly level" or something like that this guy name in original was "shen". "shen" means "god" in chinese so goku realised his identity by reminding himself about "shen-long" (or "shenron", japanese often mixes "l" and "r" sounds) what literally means "godly dragon"/"dragon god"

hero/shen being kami was never obvious to anyone especially for fans who are watching the series in proper order. however, even if you work backwards, z never informs the viewer that kami knows martial arts and can possess other humans.

I really do not like the script for these parts when it comes to Kami and Piccolo x_x they aren't supposed to know about aliens until the Saiyan Saga, and Kami himself initially thought he was from Earth. Toriyama began thinking of aliens as this saga went on, but from my recollection they do not talk about aliens in the original version as that's not a thing that's really a part of the series yet. Kami and Piccolo are God and Devil, not talking as if they're extraterrestrials. Anytime they do that here is just...makes it kinda hard to listen to to me, and utterly ruins the plot twist in the Saiyan Saga with how they just start talking about aliens out of nowhere here as if it's something that's common knowledge.
