I love 1 step forward, 3 steps back, the lyrics “and I’d leave you but the rollercoasters all I’ve ever had” is so powerful to me Hope ur ok and Teenage Dream are tied for my favorite songs, “address the letters to the holes in my butterfly wings” has got to be one of (in my opinion) Olivia’s most poetic, beautiful lyrics. Teenage dream just… no words. Honestly. Olivia’s voice when she sings “and I’ll blow out the candles happy birthday to me, got your whole life ahead of you you’re only 19” sends shivers down my spine I love her voice so much. And ofc the bridge is amazing. Pretty much if Olivia makes a sad song I automatically like it… ngl, the first time I listened to Sour I thought it was made more me, I resonated so deeply with it. Don’t come after me please, I love Get him back, love is embarrassing, brutal, and jealousy jealousy! And I agree the grudge is amazing!! Such an emotional song that highlights her voice so freaking well!! Thank you for coming to my Ted talk 🫶

I remember skipping the grudge everytime after my first listen. and then once i didnt and i didnt think too much of it. and then the entire day i was humming the bridge and just thought whatever lets listen to the grudge. its my 2nd fav song in guts now and most played in december 2023 and these almost 6 days of 2024

Since it's the first anniversary of Guts album was released, I decided to make an Olivia Rodrigo tier list. This was a toughie as some songs have great lyrics while others have great emotions in singing and music production and was hard to see, which was the difference maker. God Tier: Driver's License, jealously jealously, Can't Catch Me Now, Scared of My Guitar, Obsessed, Logical. Screaming Crying throwing up my Guts: enough 4 u, All American Bitch, get him back!, hope ur ok, stranger, traitor, the grudge, teenage dream, love is embarrassing Love this song: good 4 u, happier, Favorite Crime, Vampire, lacy, So American She's Good: bad idea right?, brutal, all I want, ballad of a homeschooled girl Not my fave/good enough (will only listen when listening to albums straight through, still enjoyable especially live): deja vu, 1 step forward 3 steps back, pretty isn't pretty, making the bed, girl I've always been. I'm so glad I saw Olivia live twice. I can't wait to see her again and hear her future music. She might be the only the only artist where I have yet to hear a song I didn't like.
