I feel like sometimes this is a better way to rank games because you don't have to directly compare them as much. It is much easier to say both moniker and wonderland's war are S tier without having to sit and think, "but can you really compare them". Great video! Also I feel like making your own tiers is one of the best things about doing tier lists and just having fun with it, so here are my tier name suggestions from the video S-Super Special Games, Ya Know A-A Great Game B-Boy is That a Game C-C'mon (not the publisher) (also this was the hardest one to think of lol) D-Does This Need a New Home

You know you are into boardgames when a Ranking list this long feels like a Martin Scorsese movie 🤣 This was both insane and amazing thank you guys for taking the time on doing this 👍 I really likes "Sea, Salt & Paper" launched to S, it's the same at home. The couple of games that are S tier for me are "Five Tribes" and "Tigris and Euphrates", those need to be talked about more, I wonder if those are missing cause you did not play them (highly unlikely 😅) or because you don't like em (likely hearbreaking 😂)

I love this list because it includes so many games I know and do not know, and I agree with most of your opinions on them too. I was surprised though that considering how many games you have there, that you do not have Scruples, Merchant Marauders, Lord of the Rings Risk, Orient Express, Rage, Uno, Gloomhaven or Scotland Yard on the list, not that I would have put them as S tier but I have had a lot of fun playing those games with the right people, though I am tired of Uno. But I am glad you had games like Lost Ruins of Arnak, Libertalia, Dead Reckoning, Star Wars Rebellion, Hero Quest, Heat Pedal to the Metal, Scythe, Castles of Burgundy, War of the Ring, Skull King, Game of Thrones, Res Arcana, Camel up and Obsession up there, for they are games I think deserves to be. I like Jamaica, Everdell, Dixit, Clank as B games too. I would probably have scored Codenames higher than a D, but it is very people dependant and I agree that it is not above B. Great job getting through more than 500 games in 2 hours, never a boring moment, I just wish I had played more of the games on this list.

I have a spreadsheet that I keep all my games on, and I do a 1-5 ranking, but I like the idea of the alpha rating. Seeing your collection is nice because it gives me some ideas for games I've maybe thought about getting, or even never heard of, but am intrigued. Very fun to watch! Thanks!

Nemesis just is a bit of a slog IMO. People can be eliminated very quickly just based on random dumb luck. And for a 2+ hour game, can be a tough pill to swallow

So I have recently been watching your channel, and enjoying it, but I also wanted to clarify something I have seen several times mentioned in videos, that I agree with overall but I think there are a couple exceptions that should be considered. The topic is how many games are too many games. I think this is very much an individual choice as each person has different situations and can really make the decision for themselves. Here are the caveats to this is if your purchasing of games is impacting your life in a major way. It could be you are you choosing to buy games over paying bills, or buying food or another required piece or life. Often times this may be hard as the person buying the game to recognize, but if you buy a game you are thinking about how you have to have ramen for the rest of the month, you probably should hold off on the game (unless you just really like ramen). The second is your spouse or significant other has an issue with the amount of games that are coming into the house. If you are creating tension within your immediate relationships over games, I l think you should take a strong look at why this is causing tension, and make sure you are communicating with them about why you want to buy the game and listen to their perspective too. Finally, if games don't have a home when they get to your home, this is more likely connected to FOMO where you keep buying games because they sound fun, but they have now gotten in the way of getting into rooms in your dwelling, it may be creating a hazard for life. To be clear, I don't think there is an amount of games that everyone should not go over, but if it is affecting your finances, relationship or safety, take a moment to examine if your purchasing is in a healthy place.

@@FostertheMeeple Strangely, a friend of mine has gone through borrowing money to buy more magic cards, games and other non essentials items, when he isn't working due to injury taking on debt to make these purchases. I have had to counsel that taking loans to continue buying isn't the best course and he should wait to buy more until his financial situation stabilizes. It's been hard on his relationships and of course his financial situation too.

WHAT HAPPENED WITH BOHNANZA! What was the player count you guys played at? I love that game. Very group dependent though, and if you don't like the look that doesn't help. Bohnanza Dahlias is a prettier version but anyway, you can't play that game at 2. It starts cooking at four or higher. But there is a threshold where you can have too many. Don't know, my family likes to play it and each have our favorite beans to collect. The 25th anniversary box is a nice set that comes with some good fixes to the game and some neat modules.

I almost bought Applejack at deep discount, but backed out at the last second because I'd heard about the over-complicated scoring. Do you think you would you have ranked it the same if you could only play it physically? On the topic of Uwe though, Loyang is great and the only game that I know for certain would be in my top 10, maybe even top 5, so it's always awesome to see it get some love.

The rankings are objectively subjective. Going through this exercise can certainly help, and part of the discussion that got touched on is whether the games thay would be better with more will come out with more. There's only so much time in the day (and friends who can give you their time), and these games should be either games to be played or games to be shown off. There are so many games coming out that being selective is essential to not be buried under the stream of games.

I agree with a lot of takes on here and the Nemesis one so much. Alien is my favorite movie ever and Nemesis was an obvious purchase for me and on the surface, it looks perfect, then you play it and all these classic Awaken Realms flaws keep creeping up. After a few games I sold my copy and regret nothing. Nemesis is a lot of things, fun is not one of them. Also, I'll throw it here : There are zero reasons why the queen token should be in the bag on turn one, that's lazy game design in my opinion.
