I had the same issues with Powerless… I finished the book, but kept telling myself, “if I read one more line that says ‘____ had me feeling or ___ had me doing’ one more time I was going to DNF🙈 The grammar was *ick*. Definitely felt like it was written by an 18 year old.

It was horrible!! Did you read the indie version too? Simon and Schuster must have fixed it or idk how nobody else is talking about it!!

I’d say all the good reviews for POWERLESS are from the author’s fellow social media creators doing their best to support her. And if it does read like a copy & paste of beloved series, then of course it will appeal to those readers(I mean 4th Wing was very Divergent, but with dragons, but it was different enough and I did give it 5 stars)… I do want to eventually read Powerless, but I hope they fix the grammatical errors, because that totally takes me out of a story too… Totally agree with Mr Wrong Number… I LOVED it I’m glad I didn’t read A Hundred Other Girls… I am a HUGE Devil Wears Prada stan and so this book caught my attention… But then started seeing a lot of bad reviews so I decided not to read

There were a ton of 5 star reviews on Goodreads before powerless even came out which rubbed me the wrong way🤨 but I think they must have edited the grammar and spelling mistakes because I haven’t heard anyone mention them in a while. I’d love to know what you think about it!
