I've been running the seva and Ragnar with my clan mates doing some mass drops in div. We had two new guys to the clan and they said, for me to tell them what happens when they play with me. So I told them I have killed everyone on the other side during clan battles and I get a bit greedy at times. Then went on to get a few krakens, changed over to the Ragnar. Got a few more.

Is the Ragnar the go to steel DD? Got enough to buy my first steel ship, just can't make up my mind.

Only if you are really comfortable open water gunboating with sustained dpm but no real alpha deterrent. This game was a great example of that where you can kite away at long range. The perfect scenario will make every ship look great. Z42 is an insane cap contester if you like something a bit sneakier, you won’t farm as much damage but you’ll get a lot more wins because you can control more scenarios.

Ragnar or Z-42? If you are used to non-smoke DDs then Ragnar. Ragnar has 25MM mid ship armor which if angled properly can bounce most DD shells. There are now a-lot of big gunned DDs so it's not impervious to them. The accuracy of Ragnar guns is insane, but you can't count on dispersion getting a hit from a poorly aimed shot but if properly aimed often all four shells will hit which is Ragnars greatest strength, if you can aim you will get multiple hits per salvo and at long range too. I extend my radar action time in slot 2 with the coal purchased mod which extends her radar to 36 seconds, Typically I don't use my radar very often because she's a great long-range sniper. However if a DD pushes in and out spots you just pop the radar. Ragnars' best detect is 7.5k and its radar is also 7.5k so technically nothing Can out spot a Ragnar lol. Radar is also useful if you are going to pop out from behind an island and want to know if it is safe to do so. Ragnar is best working with or near a group of other ships. Her weakness is torps as she is not very dodgy, she is however very fast with the speed boost on. I also use the acceleration mod (slot 3?), she needs agility. Her AA is very strong too. I do love my Ragnar, you will not regret getting her, that much I can say for certain. The only other steel DD is Z-42 and I've nothing bad to say about it but I think that Ragnar is the better of the 2. (my Pan Euro main opinion for my playstyle). Cheers: Robert

I don't understand playing ragnar in ramdoms when you can just get the kleber for free. Sure the radar is great in competitive but thats all.

You realize extending the range makes it more accurate at ranges beneath that and therefore increases your dpm right
