I've been busy and not watching KZbin, but when I saw you post this on Instragram, had to watch. That Jango fig is crazy. I got this set with no figures in one of my first big hauls back a handful of years ago. I quickly found a deal on the young Boba fig, but at the time the Jango fig was $60 used (and even to this day I've not paid that much for a figure). Had I known, I would have gotten Jango for $60, since that figure has steadily gone up and is now at the ridiculous level. I always hoped to score one in those epic hauls I was getting, but never did. I likely never will own it unless I just get incredibly lucky, because I can't bring myself to pay those prices. I agree, compared to the earlier Slave I's, this was a significant improvement at the time. Now it's quite out of date and I would really love for them to make a modern Jango's Slave I. Maybe someday.

As with the concurrently released "Bounty Hunter Pursuit" (7133), It is still surreal that this is the only set of this incarnation of the Slave I, as the Original Trilogy version of it has had at least six different sets of it. Even after twenty years, many elements comprising this set no longer survive, including the 3x8x2 shells w/bow angle in black-which are exclusive. The same part in sand green also appeared in the 2006 version (6209), and in a "Lego Movie" set (70840) in 2019. The 2x6 shells w/bow angle and 1x6 brick w/bow in sand green are exclusive to this set, and this is the first minifigure-scale set to have the 1x3 25-degree roof tile in that color which is still in use today. On the wings, the Technic 135-degree angle element in tan is exclusive, and the Technic 32MM corrugated pipes in that color also came in the Technic Battle Droid (8001) two years before this, but nowhere else. The 6x6 plate w/bow in tan appeared in both the 2000 and 2006 versions of this as well, and the 2x4 "sideboard" (this part:brickset.com/sets/containing-part-4163972) in that color and black. The wings also contain "Feet Additions" used on the first version of Pohatu (8531) from Bionicle, and are the last appearance of them in their origin color of tan. The shade of "Earth blue" was introduced by Lego during 2002, though the 2x6 shells w/bow angle appeared in just three other sets (4506, 4748 and 4881) between June 2004 and 2005, and the 2x8x2 brick w/bow in that color is near exclusive to this set. The 3x2 "cupboard door" in the old dark gray also came in a "World City" set (4513) in June 2003, and the parabolic reflector and 4x6 plate w/ 12 knobs in that color are exclusive to here.

Always wanted this set as a kid. Regret not buying it a few years ago for $200. I have the 2006 boba slave 1. I always thought they would look great next to each other because they are such similar design

It's so cool seeing this set knowing that this set is the basis for the slave 1 we have now. Recently got the book of Boba Fett set a few months back and it might be my favorite Star wars ship in Lego. Has storage, 2 different flight modes plus a handle for optimum swooshing lol and you can easily display it. X wing is still my favorite ship as far as look and design. Great review man and wow! You got a deal compared to what it's going for now

I agree, really like looking a earlier models and seeing how LEGO has changed them, and what they kept over the years. And really? That is one of the few sets I didn't get from last years summer wave just because I own like 4 Slave 1s lol. May buy if I see a sale on it
