I honestly can't believe that this was his first time driving one either, but Tiff was an incredibly busy person and those cars were snatched up instantly. The timing was probably just barely off for the chances he could have had to drive one back then.

@@dewajtis Same but he himself has admitted that he isn't a "car guy." He's a competitive driver and my guess is that when the CGT came out there were just too few cars/owners to loan to a TV show, and Tiff was still competing and doing other media jobs.

I remember seeing one of these for the first time. 10 years later I saw the same exact car. Was paint to sample white with white wheels. Best part is, the owner floored it past me on the highway/motorway, wowwwww the sound is incredible!

I like Tiff Needell, but I saw a video with him claiming to be priveleged to drive the original Jaguar D type that was involved in the most catastrophic racing disaster in motor racing history, The 1955 Le-Mans, where 84 people died and 200 were injured, some seriously ! the claim he makes is completely false, because Jaguar dismantled the original car and it was not ever reassembled, I think it is in very bad taste indeed that ( knowing the history of the car ) he should, 1 affirm that it was a privilege to drive it and 2 not to have taken the time to verify from Jaguar Cars the authenticity , or lack of !
