1:21 - this is common hearsay but it's false, the salary cap doesn't require clubs to stick to a 70% wage-to-turnover ratio. 1:28 - Barcelona registered two new signings, Depay and Garcia, yesterday. Obviously they would've been able to register Messi as well, if he'd agreed to play for free. 2:18 - got a source for that? Lots of people saying this, no-one citing any legislation where this "clause" appears. And, as you allude to, it'd be trivial to circumvent in this case because Messi's old contract had expired.
@abusaeed50833 жыл бұрын
First off, Eric Garcia and Depay's wage bill would be paid spread on different years and they were registered before the deadline. That is why, they had been able to register them. Whereas, in Messi's case he did reduce his salary but because of the deadline they weren’t able to stall hi registration. Therefore, they failed to register him. Maybe if they a month or 2 in their hands they could have sold Coutinho and opened up the sold for signing Messi. Simple! FYI, the rules of Laliga do not allow a players to be registered for free or with a 50℅ reduction. In case, of Pique he was already in the club, registered and playing. But, Messi was a new player..He had to he re-signed in order to register him. But, all the complications with the rules and regulations caused his departure.
@bensan949313 жыл бұрын
@@abusaeed5083 What are you on about? For starters, Barcelona could've "spread" Messi's wage too but, more pressingly, the whole point is that he could (and should) have played for free, meaning he'd have had no wage to be spread. And yes, I know that there's this urban legend that Spain's employment laws don't allow an employee's wage to be cut by more than 50%. Yet I've never seen anyone cite a source; it's got all the traits of fake news. And, as I already said, it'd likely be trivial to circumvent any such law because Messi's old contract had expired.
