I feel like this is such an elitist concept. Real country music comes from being poor and working all day in order to be able to eat properly. It brings up the repressed feelings of a society bound by work and christian values, that are usually soothed by lichor or acts that comes from poor emotional devlopment. You ain't telling me Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton and The Highwaymen have nothing of value to say. I can't and won't defend some categories of modern country, however. But I do believe this is an elitist thought from someone who never lived this reality or is running away from it's own background.

If anyone cares to know..... Anthony "Ant" Anstead, is an English mechanic and TV presenter. He came to California to replace Edd China as the mechanic on "Wheeler Dealers"( which was a quaint English show with a car dealer, and a mechanic, who would buy, fix and flip cars, in fun, informational, and entertaining way. At some point the American network "Velocity"(now Motor Trend) took over production and moved production from London-ish to LA-ish. After a couple seasons, the mechanic, Edd China, left. They brought Ant in to replace him. While working on the show, he got involved with, married and had a son with Christina Haack(El Moussa/Anstead/Hall) who is a TV Real estate investor/flipper with her first Husband Tarrek El Moussa. She and Ant split up around the beginning of the pandemic. Ant has since also left Wheeler Dealers, and some new bloke named Elvis has replaced him.

No one has to see her movies to know that she is a famous actress. There are so many celebrities that I am conscious of but have no interest in whatsoever. It's just about being aware of the world around you, which includes names that you might see as you're scrolling through a bunch of headlines. This is actually exactly appropriate... people are people...and sorry to burst a bubble but no one person is above another. "Don't you know who I am?"...is basically saying my ego is so insecure that I must be recognized to feel worthiness.

Last week I went to a housewarming party and met a woman. I said hi and introduced myself. Turns out we hooked up two years ago and I failed to recognize her. In my defense she changed her hair but I was still deeply ashamed.

Four years ago I dated a woman who I had dated 13 years before that, and she did not remember me. I never forgot her and thought about her all the time. She did remember in detail the time we spent together later, though, even things I didn't remember. I guess what happens is that we try to remember only the stuff we like and we even create distorted fantasies to cover the holes of stuff we don't like. Then we change our minds and remember stuff we had forgotten. I'm only writing about her now because Facebook just showed her son as a suggested friend to me, about an hour ago, because I had chosen not to think about her for the last several months. And I probably will choose to stop thinking about her as soon as possible, though. My mind is forgetting all the bad stuff.

Interviews are hitting me different all of a sudden. They’re celebrities chatting with each other about their celebrity lives…something they could be doing at any coffee shop or dinner party…but it’s for the entrainment & profit off of, regular everyday ppl. Just…celebrities chatting -not to anyone outside their circle or their world or on topics that everyday people typically experience…there’s no connection between them & non celebrity ppl…but non celebrity ppl listen and watch. It’s not even the fish bowl phenomenon that gets me. It’s them. It’s the celebrity chatting with their buddy or colleague deliberately to showcase and continue their relevance in whatever genre, which is carried by regular ppl but…they’re never really doing anything or talking about anything that would ever directly involve the people that hold their relevance. Ppl are weird.

I am an L.A. native and used to hang out in the club scene during the 80's and there were/are numerous celebrity look-a-likes hanging out in Hollywood too! So, I do a double-take and then realize they're just look-a-likes, so NOW, I almost always think, when I see a celebrity, I hesitate, thinking, "no, they're just a look-a-like," and go about my business.

I was waiting for a shuttle once and a kind looking old guy come up and we exchange a few words about the shuttle. He looked familiar...I hesitated. Part of my brain goes, "don't say it", but curiosity won. I said, "you probably get this a lot, does anyone ever tell you you look like an Osmond?" He said, "I *AM* an Osmond brother." OK then! Foot in mouth haha.

So I really enjoyed watching Tig doing her standup!!!! She has a dry whit and a humor that I can appreciate!!! And Then she crossed into part of my geekdom with Star Trek Discovery!!! Her character on there is fantastic and very in line with line the dry humor DeForest used to bring to his Dr. McCoy character!!! It's excellent!!!

I've lived in Japan for the past 17 years after growing up in the USA. I go back occasionally for a visit and am completely out of the loop Pop Culture wise. If I move back in a few years, there will be a period of adjustment where I will unfortunately have to learn who the Ant Anceds of the world are or I will seem like an idiot.

Should we be expected to automatically know who celebrities are? It's an odd world we live in. Especially someone who is busy like Tig, it becomes more challenging to keep up with media (TV, streaming shows, KZbin content creators, etc.). I definitely don't have a clue on the younger celebs these days. They come up quickly these days...

No, it's ridiculous how much stock we put into celebrities. I mean, I'm even ashamed of myself 😂 I once saw Vin Diesel walking from a gym and despite reallllly not giving a damn about him, I still had that resonating omg omg it's a movie star flood through my veins. On the other hand, if Clifton Webb or Gene Tierney walked around the corner, I would freak out. So it's not like I'm infallible with the classics either. In a recent StarTalk episode, Chuck Nice was trying to remember the name of Brad Pitt and the movie Seven, and Neil Tyson has zero idea what he was on about... he knew who Brad Pitt was, but had no clue what Seven was. Obviously Tyson put his brain toward much more relevant matters than the rest of us typically do.
