The big difference maker is the fact that this is a game. In realty fear and the hesitancy that is placed on you from that fear can easily slant odds in ones favor. furthermore the Tiger tank was essentially the boogie man to the allied troops and most soldiers had the fear long before seeing one in person.

Not gonna lie the final phase of this battle is very accurate to the one that happened in real life after Whitman escape Villers because with his crew he came back with his entire tiger Ruben with the remaining tigers and a couple of pans or fours from the six panzer 4s from a panzer brigade

Fun video but you didn't recreate the battle. There was a full Squadron of Cromwell with three Fireflies on the hill. They were taken out by two of Wittman's Tigers while Wittman ambushed one of those three Fireflies and turned left to go along the road. Parked next to the road were Bren Carriers and half-tracks. Those were destroyed by machinegun fire (German tanks used AP machinegun ammunition which under 250m penetrates the armor of lightly armored vehicles) plus he drove over the universal carriers some 6 pdr guns. He also destroyed a 6 pdr while the British were setting it up. Past the Cromwell Squadron HQ unit he ran into three Cromwell, one with a dummy 75mm (FOO vehicle) taking out the FOO tank and one of the other Cromwell as well. He then moved into the town and was fired on by a Firefly which missed. Wittman broke contact and headed back where he ran head on with the one HQ Cromwell left that was moving down the road to attack the Tiger from the rear. Instead, they fought head on and after bouncing a round off the Tiger that Cromwell was knocked out. Whittman had passed it as the Cromwell was in a small garden off the road and the tank commander watched Wittman's Tiger drive by. His gunner wasn't in the tank. Whittman's Tiger continued on but was tracked by a 6 pdr hastily set up in the buildings to get a flank shot on any vehicle on the road. The 6 pdrs did have APDS. Wittman's crew abandoned their Tiger and walked to a Panzer Lehr position. That is where German infantry and Mark IV tanks came from. Meanwhile, the two Tigers had taken out most of the Cromwell and the two Firefly tanks on the hill. The attack on the village with the remaining Tigers and Panzer Lehr's Mark IV tanks supported by grenadiers from Leher cost at least one Tiger and a Mark IV and was unsuccessful as the British had set up a strong defense. The Germans began to encircle and the British hastily pulled out. British half-tracks don't have a .50 cal AA HMG. They remove them and replace with a .30 cal Browning. German MG can penetrate lightly armored vehicles at close range - also weapon shields which is the reason they have AP ammunition. One major thing not replicated in your battle is that the crews and men were out of their vehicles while all of the officers gathered with the forward Squadron for an Ops meeting (to discuss the next step in their advance). No AT guns set up, no one dug-in, PIAT left in the half-tracks. Thus the infantry and tanks did not have their command present and some didn't have a tank commander or anti-tank weapons. The counter-attack by the Tigers and Panzer Lehr wasn't well organized and had no artillery support. The British put up a good fight. Not sure what they had run into and in contact with Tigers and having no reconnaissance not knowing how many Germans were attacking, the 7th withdrew the rest of the brigade back to consolidate. This battle lasted hours. 30 some minutes for the initial attack by Whittman in the morning and then hours of fighting by the lead British tank Squadron with many captured or escaping back to British lines, then Wittman walking to the Lehr positions, getting Lehr units formed and advancing to attack blind, another Tiger company arriving with a handful of operational vehicles, coordinating these elements into an attack and then the fight in the village took up most of the daylight hours. The Brits pulled back late that day. A firefly waiting for a peak vs a tiger just driving through, in real life, the tiger commander would probably have to tell the gunner the position of the firefly. In WT, 3rd person make sot easy. But still impressive that the tiger reacted quickly

There was no third person here because it was in simulator mode so you can only use the commander view outside the tank, not third person

Hey thunder with muffin I had an idea for a video and my idea is what if you tried to recreate the battle of Berlin with the first round being the vehicles used in the battle and round two maybe being any modern vehicle that the contestants choose or maybe possibly something similar to that and I hope you have a great rest of the day that you may or may not see this.

I think there is also a bit more to this. The fact that Brits didnt had that many Firefly's to supply across entire front in such huge ammount. ( But same goes for Tigers in this ! ) Aswell, Cromwell using ( In this battle ) its more developed amunition. Back then, it could not pen the Tiger, not even from the back. But that might come also to facts Brits were using alot of HE instead. Fun battle :) I only wonder, if "dead" players could still talk to rest of the team. If they were on Discord. That might of caused some dissadvantages ?

At the first round if they got flanked in the rear , nobody knows were the enemy is . As they got hit they imediatly droped smoke and turned around , wich irl nobody would do as you don't know were the shots are coming . This is why they managed to knock one Tiger out . In the second battle some guys used APDS , wich was available August 1944 and pretty rare btw .

Actually it was a 76mm Sherman Firefly that had a bigger and longer gun, with more penetration power than the normal one.

@@ComradeBobcat39 Actually the normal Sherman's 75mm gun was small and also was short in length. That was the weakness of the gun. Another factor was the ammunition which was not suited well for tank combat, since the tank was made with an idea of it being an infantry support tank. The Americans mainly focused on tank destroyers to go toe to toe against the german tanks, especially the heavies.

Part of the reason that the results in game were different from history is that in real life there is always a delay between an enemy tank being spotted and the gunner laying the gun onto target. Since in game only one person is in control of the tank, it means that things happen a lot more quickly. Also, there is the aspect that all participants knew what was happening and thus were able to coordinate better and were more mentally prepared for the situation. That aspect alone is a major variable that threw a wrench into your simulation. If you want a realistic simulation, limit the players to gunner view only and have a spectator for each participant giving bearings of enemies. However the spectators should only be able to communicate with the vehicle they are acting as the commander of unless said vehicle has a radio in which case they can coordinate with other commanders.
